we stayed three nights at Amarasinghe- the room was dinghy and dark, the shower/bathroom could have been cleaner. However at such a cheap price, and with wifi in the room there is little cause for complaint. The biggest issue was food- DO NOT EAT HERE. We ate the worst mean of our life, so bad I would have switched for... More

I stayed here with a five-year old boy, and we both absolutely loved the garden with fruit trees, flowers, tanks and bowls (I mean small ponds really) of fish everywhere. There were frogs and monkeys and lizards all around, so he had great fun. We had a cucumber tree growing on our doorstep and a mango tree by the bathroom... More

This place served us raw meat, didn't offer any kind of reimbursement and even got arsey when we refused to pay the service charge. If you don't mind a bit of campylobacter and the odd stomach pump then this average looking restaurant with the same food as everywhere else and overpriced rooms on top could be the place for you.

Very nice lokation, away from busy beach. Easy and short walk to beach. Really great and tasty food!! Big, clean rooms with seating area outside. Amazing Aryuveda massages can be ordered from the doctor. Family run and owned. Personal and warm welcome

A great peaceful place to stay in mirissa, just a short walk from the beach. Food is great and good value! And the garden is beutiful we saw apes there and squirrels. We think it could be a good place to be with children. The host family are great!

We stayed at Amarasinghe for 3 nights, primarily for the whale watching. Mirissa beach is horribly busy, bars down to the sea, clearly going the same way as Unawatuna... But this guest house is a oasis of calm in a quite backwater along the river (we saw water monitors, turtles, kingfishers, monkeys and loads of other wildlife. There is a... More

We booked for Amarasinge but on arrival were given a spurious reason for an overbooking and moved to Amarasinge Lodge instead. Here there was a small garden facing a busyish road instead of the lovely green organic lushness we expected from their web pics. The drains in the basic dingy back room flooded smelly sewage onto the floor both nights... More

We stayed in one of the cottages that they offered. It was the most expensive guest house of our stay (Rs 5000 incl breakfast) but worth it in our opinion for a bit of a treat. Great food, 5 minutes to the beach and very welcoming. Clean, comfortable rooms and bathroom.
