Laid back beach resort with high standards but no pretentions. The pool is meticulously clean with magical views towards the ocean. The staff are wonderfully friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay special (thankyou for sourcing the jumbo prawns for me and the crab curry for my husband). Wonderful for children who can explore safely... More

We visited 1st week of April. Stayed 4 nights. It was an amazing experience. The resort is about 3 hrs North of Colombo by road. It offers a unique beach holiday with simplistic cabanas/ villas to suit all types of travelers. Key features are the palm leaf thatched cabanas with a cool outdoor shower concept. The whole resort has been... More

Warm welcome to a luxury , modern style cabanas made of woven Palm leaves . We had one right adjacent to the beach , patio doors with outside loungers, with a great view of the sea. Good sized infinity pool, very clean. Open air shower area attached to each room. Plenty of seating in room, but not particularily comfortable. Too... More

We are delighted to have selected Palagama Beach hotel for a 3 day visit. The staff were very accommodating, pleasant and hospitable. The hotel itself is beautifully designed - with individual bungalows that were comfortable, clean and remote from one another to achieve a real sense of privacy. The pool was gorgeous, large, and afforded beautiful views of the ocean,... More

The best hospitality experience we have ever had. Palagama is beautiful. The cabanas are fun, brilliantly designed and incredibly comfortable. Sitting by the tall coconut trees, listening to the local fishermen quietly singing, as they work, or watching the deep red sun drop into the Indian ocean can not be beaten. The staff at Palagama have made such a lasting... More

The resort did not really match the web site. The staff were very disorganized although very friendly. Food was OK but not great and the buffets were not kept warm enough. The main reason to stay here is to see the dolphins and we did see hundreds. The boat used was very slow compared to those from neighboring resorts so... More

Amazing start to our Sri Lankan adventure, we stayed in beach cabana "Sunflower" facing the Indian Ocean. Beautifully furnished with a four poster bed, (very comfortable) private bathroom leading to secluded (apart from a few sand crabs which adds to the experience) outdoor shower. Breakfast was a real treat from traditional Sri Lankan hoppers with curry to more western fruit... More

What a perfect beachside vacation! My cottage was ocean view (highly recommended), super comfortable and clean. Loved my outdoor shower, and the front porch for just hanging out. The pool is lovely, with wide and spacious lounging huts surrounding which will keep you out of the sun at peak points of the day. The beach was pretty and clean, and... More

My wife, myself and a friend stayed for 3 days/2 nights. We loved the place. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Our cabana, Rosa had indoor and outdoor showers and 2 outdoor sitting areas. The beach, unlike further South, is calm, very clean and a pleasure to swim in, but you do have a great infinity pool. We... More

Nicely located by an unspoiled natural beach. Layout of resort quite attractive with freshwater infinity pool, saltwater pool and plenty of comfy, shaded seating areas, plus bar and restaurant. Gardens and cabin areas are full of Palm trees. All the buildings are palm thatched wooden cabanas and very picturesque. Wooden cabins are attractive but very Eco, ie with hardly any... More
