I brought my touring group of motorcyclists for 2 nights here in February 2015. We came looking for something authentic, a true feel of rural India...and this is where we found it! The hotel itself is the main quarter of the old village fort, which used to be at the center of a 500-village dominion. Our very gracious hosts Bhagwati... More

Seema and Bhagwati are the most brilliant hosts ever. The food and the hospitality is the stuff super luxurious hotels dream of achieving. Everyone has a smile and there are many many stories to listen to told by Bhagwati. Seema drums up the most mouthwatering local food that you will not be able to stop eating. Ask Bhagwati about the... More

Spent 2 nights at the fort while we were having a tour of the shekhawati area. Wonderful stay with Seems and Bhagwati and their delightful family. Mahansar is located close to Mandawa, Nawalgarh, Churu. Bhagwati is the descendant of the Thakur of Manhansar, the Fort itself is divided into several regions, each occupied by one of the relatives. Half of... More

We just got back from a 10 week trip to India, and can say that our two-day stay at Mahansar Fort was a huge highlight of our trip. Seema and Bhagwati are absolute gems! They were so warm, friendly, inviting, and generous, they made us feel like family. What we enjoyed most were the hours we spent just hanging out... More

Picture an ancient fort in the rural interiors of Rajasthan. It's surrounded by all manner of India's countryside staples -- children playing, cattle ambling along mud paths, wild foliage, temples and mosques, tea stalls, tiny kirana shops, the ubiquitous mobile advertisements, locals enjoying the time of day along the streets. You, however, are cozily settled in a comfortable room in... More

My first visit to this hotel was Feb 2013, solo travel around Shekhawati. It looked quirky and away from the tourist trail of the Shekhawati. having stayed in Mandawa and Nawalgarh on previous travels. On my 20th trip to India I found an extremely special place. Beautiful and isolated fort, gorgeous Royal family to welcome me. Seema and Baghwhati are... More

This fort has been divided over the years and is now Fort/ home to several descendants. Seema & Mr Singh own the part known as Mahansar Fort Heritage Hotel and our stay with them was a pleasant and interesting experience. Seema, Mr. Singh and their small son met us as we stepped off the train in Churu and drove us... More

I stayed there exactly a year ago, spent Christmas Eve at the Singh family’s fort. Arrived late in the evening in the darkness – an intriguing sight to see the fort lit up in the night… Then what a friendly welcome by these generous and caring hosts! Seema was so kind as to show teach me some Indian recipes -... More

It is one of the best place you can stay in India, lovely hotel, lovely family and the whole village is very cosy. I spent there my best days of my last holidays. Bhawati and Seema, the owners will treat you like their family, they are very friendly people. The room are amazing, very beautiful views and you can feel... More

I loved the time I spent at this hotel. Located within an 18th century fort, you couldn't ask for more atmosphere. The rooms are very nice and the entire hotel has a wonderful feeling of somewhat faded elegance. The couple who own the place are extraordinarily friendly, helpful, welcoming, and accomodating. The owner's wife is an excellent cook - probably... More
