Narayan Niwas was recommended to me by a friend, and I was not disappointed. It's a lovely old place, with charming rooms, fantastic food and a host who takes an almost inordinate amount of care of his guests. It's a great base to explore the towns of Churu, Ramgarh, Fatehpur, Nawalgarh and Mandawa, and has some lovely havelis of its... More

This is the second time we have stayed in Mahansar. This time we arrived by train from Churu. Alighting at the station is an experience in itself. There is no platform, but the train was full of cheerful people travelling for Holi so everyone told us where to alight. Sure enough an auto was waiting for people to make the... More

We stayed three nights, but could easily have stayed more. We had the castle to ourselves, so got to have a tour of all the rooms. We had a Heritage Room (I'm not sure how many of these there are) and two of the others in our group had the Heritage Suite. It was definitely worth the small extra amount... More

Narayan Niwas castle is located at Mehansar, Churu district of Rajasthan; we arrived in the late evening and were greeted outside the gates by extremely helpful and friendly staff. After a short check-in we were shown to our rooms. The large rustic rooms have arched pillars and authentic and intricate paintings on the walls. Each room is unique and located... More

Sadly, we had only 3 nights in the splendid, historic and original castle in Manansar. The castle was fun to explore, the original paintings exquisite and very photogenic and the stories shared by the owner, Thakur Maheswar Singh, were interesting and inspiring. Our room(s) were like living in the spacious quarters of the harem, with courtyards divided by archways, lovely... More

I stayed for five nights at this hotel. I had the suite, the most wonderfull room I ever had anywhere. The room and the castle are authentic, with lost of charme. The food was delicious, every meal different. And the host and the staff are very welcoming and hospitable. A #1 experience!

This hotel is first and foremost a family home, albeit one in an ancient castle! My stay here was short but good in every way. The location is ideal, it is easy to walk around Mahansar from here and it is nice and quiet in the evenings. The rooms are exceptional examples of Shekhawati decoration and are cultural monuments in... More

We was 6 friends who came to celebrate my and my husband's birthdays at Niwas Castle in 2013 and this place just AWESOME! Beautiful king size rooms, super delicious food, great roof tops for the evening relaxation under the starry skies and warm hospitality from the host and his wife. They allowed us to use their kitchen as we wanted... More
