We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at this historic castle. The Thakur, Maheshwar and his friendly wife made us very welcome. They cooked excellent food and arranged anything we wanted without seeking commissions. This is old India where people are honest and dignified and genuinely have the interests of their guests at heart. The town of Mahensar is worth... More

We found this Castle via tripadvisor based on the already given feedbacks. Yes - if you are searching for a unique homestay in a castle and you love old heritage places this could be the place for you. We stayed in the heritage Suite nr 1 which was big enough to offer 3 People a separate sleeping area in the... More

We were part of a family group of 9 members on a trip to the Shekhawati region recently and we stayed at Narayan Niwas Castle at Mahansar for 3 nights. While Heritage Suites 1 and 5 are good, other rooms and the rest of the property could do with better upkeep. Since there were no geysers in the rooms, hot... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here as I had never slept in a castle before. The owner is incredibly nice and will accommodate your every need. The rooms are large, nicely decorated and at a reasonable price. If you're just passing through like I was, or looking to stay for a few days I would highly recommend narayan niwas!

Mahansar is a sleepy Shekhawati village near Bissau, Rajasthan. One huge 1768 built fort dominates the village. In this fort, you can stay the night and feel the old dusty charm of an old gone Rajput era. 15 Rooms, all varying in size and quality but with equally hard matrasses and basic facilities. But don't come here and expect luxury,... More

My friend and I stayed in the Narayan Niwas Castle in mahansar sadly for only one day. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had. Every one was super friendly, the family was amazing and the food, oh the food, I can't stop thinking about the food, it was the best I have ever had. If I had... More

Superb stay in a castle. Spacious rooms, great welcome, nice food Friendly owner who offered me to taste one of his own-brewed alcohol (whiskey) Don't be confused with the castle nextdoor, this is the place to be!

Presently run by the royal family, this castle has large airy rooms with arched pillars and intricate paintings on the walls. Some rooms are better than others but all have been furnished for a comfortable stay. The meals are cooked under the personal supervision of the family members.

I can not recommend staying here highly enough! The fort is beautiful, so old and interesting, great to walk around and see the original features. They have done such a great job of converting it into a hotel but keeping the character. We stayed here in our last week of backpacking and this was a treat, more expensive but totally... More
