We had a lovely stay at the Hawthorn Villa Stables during our recent trip around Tasmania. Location was fantastic, just a stone's throw from Launceston - it was a very short trip to the farmers' market the next morning which fell nicely into our plans. The grounds are nothing short of gorgeous as are the apartments and Nicole and Innes... More

What a beautiful place. Its a National Trust property with the most exquisite gardens surrounding the Stable accommodation. I felt I was in England. The Stables are beautifully renovated. In the loft was a queen size bed and below a well equipped kitchenette . The lounge settee aĺso opens into a comfortable bed. We stayed 2 nights. You can sit... More

This was my second visit to the Stables. Stayed one night with friends from overseas. The Stables have been built to look like they are historical - but inside they are very well appointed. The gardens are amazing featuring in Homes & Garden recently and on display to the public via the Open Garden Scheme. The kitchens are small encouraging... More

We made a booking via email in February 2015 for August 2015 specifically booking villa with double bed downstairs as we were travelling with my mother. When my mother arrived they had no record of the booking, tried to offer a villa with single bed but that wasn't suitable for us. Not very helpfully offering alternatives, but mentioned Westbury Gingerbread... More

We have recently had a 3 night stay at Hawthorn Villa Stables and it was fantastic! The 4 Stables are quirky self-contained rooms with every comfort you may need. As we were out touring all day, every day of our stay, it was great to come home to a most comfortable room with a fabulous modern bathroom with the thickest,... More

Stopped overnight at the Hawthorn Villas and as we drove in we were taken aback at the beautiful gardens and old stables that have been converted to rooms. The host was lovely and she noticed my wife was pregnant. She recommended we swap rooms to the one next door as the staircase was more supported and safer up to the... More

Comfortable and well equipped apartments in beautiful gardens on the fringe of a small town, with friendly and obliging hosts. Steep staircase to sleeping area might not suit some. Only about 12 minute drive from Launceston.

Beautiful gardens with seating thoughtfully placed - we were able to eat our dinner & our breakfast in the sun at various tables. The gardens are just stunning & made for a very restful overnight stay. The stairs to the mezzanine bedroom were a challenge & definitely not for the faint hearted or the balance challenged. The hostess was friendly... More

If you want to "do" Tasmania like a fast food chain , then this place will calm you down and bring you back in the moment . The garden, accommodation and welcoming hosts feels like your coming home. The beds are crisp, comfortable and inviting. The interior design is unique with a clever use of space. I love their use... More

The surrounding gardens are stunning! The Stables are quaint and suitable for no more than 2 people. Bare in mind the beds are in the loft which are accessed by very tight and steep stairs....certainly not for certain folk. It was very stuffy even with all the windows open. Aircon was available however I did not turn it in. The... More
