As we were delighted to write in the Visitors' Comments volume at the Villa San Gennariello at the end of our (too short!) three-day stay: We (my wife and I) have lived for some ten years in Italy, over the past fifty years, and so we've experienced LOTS of varying living arrangements (school settings, our own rental apartments, etc.): We... Very nice place to stay. Nice people, wonderful house and rooms. Lovely mother making breakfast and dinner. On walking distance to Herculaneum. 20 minutes from Pompeï. Very good place to explore the neighboorhood.

I've now stayed here twice, once in April this year with my fiancé and I've today returned from a trip with my mum. Emma and her family are wonderful, genuine people that go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The gardens are beautiful, the location is perfect for visiting ercolano scavi, Sorrento, ischia, Capri... More

We were in this bed and breakfast for two nights. It is a stylish villa near the Ercolano ruins. It is situated in a beautiful garden, an oasis in a busy town. We had a large room, with high windows and a nice view. Guests can sit and relax in various stylish and spacious rooms. The owners are really very... More

This is a wonderful B&B operated by a family that is rightfully proud of their fine home. You can live like a noble. The rooms are nicely appointed and the bathrooms are spacious, including roomy showers! The breakfast is better than the standard fare, and filling. That's good because you will have a bit of a walk to Herculaneum, but... More

I stayed in this historic villa on May 16th on my way to our rented "Trullo" in Puglia and on May 24th and 25th on our return to Naples. We set off from the Naples airport in our rented Fiat 500 and headed for the Villa San Gennariello in Portici,( I was the designated navigator ) and even though we... More

Not only is this B & B a beautiful piece of history, the hosts are warm and welcoming! Emma,Dominico and Franceso made my 4night stay there most enjoyable. A walk away from the ruins of Ercalano and a calm oasis in a very busy town. Excellent communications with the circumvesuviana train that runs along the Amalfi Coast. Yes, the area... More

We have stayed at this residence on several trips to the Amalfi coast. It's clean, incredibly friendly and georgous - inside and out! Its about a 4-5 minute walk from the train station, and worth every step! We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for unique lodging in a quiet but nice neighborhood. Within a short walk are also... More

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights while doing day trips to Naples, Sorrento, Paestum, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, etc. The location was great and the house lovely, but our GPS could not find it so we ended up calling Francesco, who came and found us and brought us to the Villa. He and the entire family were very... More

I agree with other comments that area around villa is noisy, scruffy, littered and a bit threatening. But short walk to villa from station and once behind locked gates felt very lucky to be able to share this beautiful C18 villa with its exquisite furnishings and garden and charming hosts. Our room was large with a sofa and access to... More
