If you have a private car and spending only a night in Mekele waiting to leave on a tour the day after, at 350 birr (breakfast included) per night this hotel might a good choice. Rooms are acceptably clean and located in a quiet garden, but on top of that they have the best hot water pressure we had in... More

Stayed here for one night after Danakil Depression trip, so it felt like luxury! My room was basic and clean, if not a bit rundown, with functional shower and hot water. The best part of the hotel for me was sitting on the terrace and enjoying the view whilst enjoying a lovely fresh fruit juice and excellent machiato! Ate dinner... More

I stayed here for one night with my family. It's OK accommodation, nothing special. The place is up a small hill (you'd probably guessed that) and has good if not dramatic views of the sprawl of Mekele from one of the two terraces. The rooms are behind the main building, and are quiet. They're a bit shabby, though, and the... More

Only had lunch in the rooftop restaurant...did not stay in the hotel. Outdoor dining with spectacular views! I had the crunchy chicken breast filets which were great. Others had veggie spaghetti, and the more traditional platters. We all felt that the food was high quality, served quickly and in a visually appealing presentation...and then there was the view...WOW!

Situated atop a hill overlooking the town, with the rooms scattered in pavillions in a grove, this could've been a wonderful hotel. Unfortunately, the rooms are rather shabby, though the excellent and reliable staff does its best to remedy minor breakdowns, and make the experience palatable. On the plus side: warm water supply is reliable, the beds are OK, there's... More

This hotel is on the outskirts of Mek'ele, and as the name suggests, on a hill; consequently it is much cleaner air than the places in the city centre; equally, it's a bit of a walk from the centre, though only about 20-30 Birr by tuk-tuk The European food is iffy - some can eat it and be fine; stick... I recently stayed at this hotel for the first time and left wondering why I ever stayed anywhere else in Mekele. Exceptional views, fresh air, and quiet as compared to almost any other hotel in Ethiopia (note - hotels in Ethiopia are usually very noisy/discos, bars, next to roads, and churches which start at 0330hrs sometimes). The food is fine... More

the hotel is a little outside the town, and - the name says it - high on a hill; so walk there only if you need serious exercise; the rooms are not bad, but the bathrooms are very poor; make sure you get a shower that works, and every time you go into the room, make sure that the staff... More
