Goodness, what a fall from grace. What was a lovely country pub has been, quite frankly, ruined by a rude landlord and average food. My advice is to avoid the place (which is what the locals are doing) and visit one of many excellent local pubs.

BE AWARE - the pub is under new ownership since the summer of 2013. What used to be a pub with great food, choice and atmosphere (incl live folk band on Sundays) has now disappointed in every respect. When we visited one Sunday the only choice was a selection of roasts. We were a table of 8 - all were... More

We stayed at the Somerset Arms for two nights over a wedding. The first night was a lads night with the groom before his big day. We were very warmly welcomed and were soon made to feel at home. The rooms were lovely, we even had a roll top bath in our bedroom. The food was excellent and nothing was... More

We arrived on 5 August, having booked one overnight a couple of months previously. The landlord and landlady had done a runner a few weeks ago and the brewery had parachuted in a new landlady named Carol. Before running away the previous people took everything with them that was not screwed down. The bar area is super but the accommodation... More

For accommodation to hit the spot it must provide a few essentials: - a comfortable bed in a warm room - a hot bath/shower - good, honest fare - a warm welcome I guess in this day and age you could also add WIFI reception to the list. Well the Somerset Arms meets all these criteria in spades. The food... More

Our room was large and comfortable even with two children sleeping in the fold-out beds. The room had nice decor and the bathroom was well done with a huge shower! Owners friendly and extremely helpful, and breakfast was great. This is a perfect location for visiting Longleat!

!We were regulars at this pub when the previous owners with the Great Dane were in it. We visited recently and found it had completely changed. Gone was the gastro pub and its wonderful food, the nice decor now looks tired and the food is very average - dont bother driving a long way to eat here

Really convenient for all the local sights. Lovely rooms, recommend 1 or 3 which have a double ended bath in the room as well as a shower room. Breakfast was great and local products are used. The owner/chef cooked is a fabulous Sunday lunch and they had musicians on St Patricks Day. Would thoroughly recommend and will stay there again.

This is a lovely place to stay. The owners and staff are lovely and welcoming with nothing being too much trouble. The food is fantastic and great value, there really is no need to leave the building. Perfect location for visiiting Longleat and the other attractions of Wiltshire & Somerset. Will definitely stay here again & can't recommend it highly enough.
