While The Skylark's Rest may be a hostel, it has so many lovely features that made our stay wonderful. We hiked from Knockree on the Wicklow Way and appreciated the signs to guide us to the hostel. Sinead goes above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met. And Roundwood hospitality was evident everywhere in the village.

We stayed at The Skylark´s Rest this summer (2014) for one night as we hiked the Wicklow way. The hostel is perfect. It is situated in nice village with everything you will need (from pubs, supermarket and ATM to beauty salon). The rooms are comfortable and very clean with free wi-fi. The hostel also offers entertainment for kids in a... More

A wonderful experience here. Sinead is awesome - wonderful hostess with great knowledge of the area. We were here as part of a Wicklow Way pilgrimage and Sinead was very helpful with minor details adn making certain we were comfortable. The house has a very nice common room stocked with books and puzzles. Rooms were clean, bright and spacious.

Truly a top-notch establishment. The owner, Sinead, takes care of you very well, and the rooms were clean and easy to sleep in. The town of Roundwood is very charming as well, with good eating options and an ATM. Very heartily recommended.

We stayed one night at the Skylark's Rest Hostel last summer as we hiked the Wicklow Way. The home was so nice and clean that I felt a little guilty for coming in muddy out of the rain, but what a wonderful place to relax. We spent a relaxing afternoon with a warm cup of tea and a book in... More

Skylark's Rest lived up to its splendid reviews. The rooms are comfortable clean and warm and the proximity to the village and good restaurants and to surrounding areas of beauty make it an excellent choice for a stay of a few days. Sinead makes sure she is available in the mornings for advice on walks, tours and restaurants to visit... More

I was part of a group who stayed in Skylark in April. Great location and an ideal establishment for an outdoors group. Sinead has a great knowledge of the area and has made great effort in getting all the small details just right. Great value also.

Walking the wicklow way we were told this was a perfect place to stay for the night. Excellent quality, very friendly owner and that for a low price. Price like most youth hostels. But with breakfast and she even will give as an lift to the start of the wicklow way (hostel is 2km off the route)

Sinead runs a great house. It's a great cross between hostel, self catering accommodation and B&B. It's spotlessly clean and breakfast is available for guests with lovely muesli. We stayed there for five days or so on a family trip to Ireland. There were no other families when we were there but nice fellow guests from different parts of Europe,... More

I highly recommend this hostel. My friend and I stayed in a private room this past weekend. We commented that it is one of the nicest hostels we've stayed in on this fine island. I've worked at a few hostels and stayed at plenty. I was impressed with how clean the room, bathroom and kitchen were. I like the no... More
