I have never on all my travels encountered such a wonderful experience such as this one, at Marsh Mere Lodge, County Wexford, Ireland. Claire is an absolutely wonderful, friendly and giving person who looked after myself and my partner exceptionally well. Nothing was ever too difficult, she made us feel like it was a home away from home. Her breakfasts... More

Our party of four stayed at Marsh Mere Lodge in early September. It was our introduction to Ireland, and it couldn't have been nicer. Claire, the owner, grew up in this lovely home and she was a friendly and helpful hostess. Her breakfasts were fresh, delicious and ample. It was fun to meet her lively Corkies in the adjacent yard.... More

We traveled all over Ireland for 24 days, footloose & fancy free - small packs & no set itinerary after first visiting Ballyhack, Duncannon & surrounding area. Loved staying at Marsh Mere Lodge in Arthurstown, beautiful view - and a mile walk to Ballyhack. Clare gave us rides & was very accommodating - wonderful place. I would highly recommend staying... Had a 3 night break in this unique beautiful B&B. Loved it, great location with stunning views. Welcomed with tea and cake on the verandah overlooking the sea, so relaxing. Felt spoilt. Will definitely return. Scrumptous breakfast each morning. Duncannon break and hook head very close by. Dunbrody house a short walk away. Loved the unique decor, so much history... More

Arrived at Marsh Mere on a sunny afternoon to a great welcome. Afternoon tea was served on the verandah overlooking a sparkling sea on this beautiful Spring day. We had the most amazing bedroom with a huge balcony overlooking the bay. The decor is very tastefully done and quirky, in the loveliest sense. Our bathroom was pristine and blue stripped... More

What a great find this was. After a tiring day cycling we arrived at Marsh Mere Lodge to a great welcome and tea and cake on the verandah overlooking what must be one of the most beautiful views in Ireland. The hospitality was wonderful. Our room was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day.... More

Myself and my boyfriend just spent two nights here. The house is so full of character, beautifully decorated and kept immaculately! The breakfast was delicious each morning and the view right onto the water was so lovely! Dunbrody house is a short walk away and hook head is close by also! Claire is a lovely host who knows the little... More

The location(great view of the bay) and the style of the house caught our eye so we thought it would be a nice places to stay. It was very comfortable and well appointed. Bathroom was clean and roomy. We took the room with the bay view and porch unfortunately it rained during our stay so we didn't spend and time... More

We reached Marsh Mere Lodge in Aurhurtown by the Passage East ferry. We travel by following our noses. We found the B&B through exploration. Our destination was Hook Head, the oldest lighthouse in Europe. It is also still fully operable. We found so many more treasures along the way. Claire the owner of the B&B was the perfect hostess. She... More
