What a delightful couple and beautiful house. Amazing location with gorgeous nature all around and fully restored and updated accommodations--the best of all worlds. HIGHLY recommend for families and individuals alike...a beautiful place to get away from the world and experience real life in the country.

Myself, husband and two small children stayed here for an overnight. We had a really relaxing stay in this beautiful home on a beautiful piece of land. Helen was extremely helpful with providing for our needs as a family. We dined at Lough Bishop that evening and enjoyed a really yummy meal which Helen had cooked with my dietary needs... More

My Dad and I stayed for two nights researching family history in the area. Not only was Lough Bishop House a beautiful, luxurious and welcoming place to stay, but Christopher and Helen went out of their way to help us with our research. They made enquiries on our behalf, recommended places to visit and people to speak to, and generally... More

What a beautiful place hosted by two very nice, friendly people. Helen and Christopher take great pride in their home and it shows. I am so happy they have decided to share it with everyone in the form of a B&B. We arrived late in the year and Helen had a fire going with tea and a nosh. From our... More

We arrived at Lough Bishop House on Easter afternoon. It was the perfect location for our first two nights in Ireland after flying into Dublin. It was only a short drive from Dublin and a world apart. The bucolic rural setting was postcard perfection. The Irish horses grazing, one with a new foal, the rare Irish cattle looking up at... More

The beauty of the grounds and living quarters were only surpassed by the gentle, gracious and kind hospitality of the Kelly's. I would recommend, make that insist, to any travelers of the Midlands they should make it a stopover they will always remember.

We had just arrived in Ireland by plane and could not have asked for a more peaceful place to stay our first night. Helen greeted us and immediately offered tea and fresh-made buns, still warm from the oven. The bedroom was spacious and bright with wonderful views and an incredibly good bed (beautiful linens). The bathroom was large and modern,... More

The only complaint about our stay at Lough Bishop House is "it was just too short". The natural beauty of the location instantly made us feel relaxed and the warm and pleasant welcom from both Helen and Christopher Kelly quickly made us feel at home. During our stay we were made to feel part of the family enjoying healthy and... More

We found this remote farmhouse fairly easily, firstly with the aid of an AA Route and then the owners local instructions. When we arrived both Helen and Christopher greeted us at the door of this delightful property in the rural Midlands. Our bedroom was immaculate with a lovely view. The downstairs lounge had a homely feel with attractive pictures, big... More
