We stayed there 2 nights for both business trip to Athlone and to experience an undiscovered region of Ireland -in a touristic point of view, of course, as Helen put it when we arrived. Helen and Christopher are wonderful hosts and make you feel at home -tea and brownies, logs burning in the fireplace, and even an unexpected very nice... More

Lough Bishop House is a secluded, bucolic idyl. The livestock operation is run by the hosts, Christopher and Helen Kelly. They are articulate about their beloved horses, sheep and their unforgettable Derrynagara cows and love sharing their experience and knowledge. The farm and its surrounding countryside is breathtakingly beautiful and there are many opportunities for leisurely walks along the long... More

Thank you Helen and Chris for showing us around your lovely country farm. Beautiful location, rolling hills, great food, nice animals.... Really enjoyed our visit with you. Gail and Peter P.S. The weirs pub was an excellent recommendation.

We began our three week excursion to Ireland/Scotland/England with two nights at Lough Bishop House. This set a high standard for all stays to follow, none of which matched the warm hospitality and lovely accommodations we had at Lough Bishop. Helen and Christopher went above and beyond to insure that we were comfortable, even given their busy days on this... More

A bit of a mixed feeling on this B&B, we wanted to stay on our way back from the coast on a farm in this region and decided to book Lough Bishop house based on the excellent TA reviews. We got a warm welcome with coffee and cake and had a nice chat with both of them, Helen was kind... More

Helen and Christopher offered us a warm welcome in to their beautifully restored farmhouse. We stayed for just one night, on our way back to Dublin from the northwest coast of Ireland. We were immediately welcomed with tea and cake in their lounge before being shown to our room, which overlooked the local scenary and garden. Breakfast was superb -... More

Christopher and Helen were extremely welcoming and took the time to show us around their picturesque and beautifully maintained farm. We had a great night's sleep in perfect peace and quiet. We have travelled a lot in Ireland and abroad and this was one of the most enjoyable and unique experiences we've ever had.

We stayed at Lough Bishop on our way back to Dublin Airport after travelling in Galway and Connemara. I chose the farm particularly for the horses and wasn't disappointed as Helen is obviously a serious breeder and was kind enough to show us her 4 lovely Irish Draft mares. The many certificates she has won line the walls , as... More

I can not praise Lough Bishop House enough - its a wonderful escape from the city and delightful to wake up in a unique farmhouse to the taste of Helen's breakfast. The food is organic and healthy but delicious. Helen & Christopher are charming and gentle hosts who give you as much attention as you need without ever being intrusive.... More

My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Ireland, and had a great time. Without question, the best stop during our trip was Lough Bishop House. A quick drive from Dublin brought us to a beautiful secluded farm in a part of the country that is neglected by most tourists. Helen & Christopher spent too much of their busy day... More
