My husband chose this as a present and it was a treat. The small but beautifully situated old convent is decorated with elegance and style by Christine (American married to Dermot the Chef who is Irish). The taster menu was delicious and a feast for the eyes but I found 8 courses too much. Could not do justice to the... More

The hosts were attentive to changing aspects of our dinner group reservation as uncertain weather up north had affected our numbers. Once we arrived we were given every attention. Service was superb, always pleasant and attentive. The easy manner of the staff (as well as their St.Trinian's school shirts and ties ) and the delightful gourmet fare complement and add zest... More

We had heard about he Old Convent for a while now but never had the opportunity to go. We drove down from Dublin last Friday night and really had a 5 star experience. Christine and Dermot run a wonderful establishment here. We chose a junior suite and loved the corner bathtub in the room and the absence of TVs was... More

Great place to go as a special treat. Chef clearly has a great love of what he does, menu is always changing. The tasting menu was great from start to finish. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere Will return again soon.

We stayed in a The OC FROM THE 6/8th June as we were celebrating our anniversary. This is a very beautiful, luxurious accommodation situated in the foothills of the Knockmealdown mountains, which, at the time of our visit, were covered for miles around with rhododendrons in full bloom. It was a stunning sight. We were welcomed at the OC by... More

This was my second visit to the old convent; my husband booked it as a surprise for our anniversary two years ago. I was highly impressed so I suggested it as a location for a get together for my widely dispersed college friends. From the initial booking Christina was so helpful regarding dietary preferences and room choices. We arrived mid... More

Just back from a wonderful night away at The Old Convent with my aunt and my sister. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. The bedrooms are really beautiful (very spacious too) and so so relaxing. Everything is thought of for the guest from midnight snacks to amazing books to body cream! Beautiful tasting dinner menu. It is obvious that the chef is... More

I wanted to treat my long suffering wife with a well deserved 24 hour break from the day to day... I wanted to stay somewhere where we could eat well, relax and draw a breath. There was lots of obvious hotels and resorts, but did I want to be watching people walking around in bath robes? No. Did I want... More

Loved every part of our experience here. The venue is stunning. The 8 course tasting dinner is done brilliantly. This is my 3rd time here for dinner and I have also stayed here once before when my family were visiting Ireland. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and were brilliant in accommodating my pregnant wife with a slight change... More

This is our fifth visit to this most relaxing location. The service and attention to detail remain top priority and the food is superb. You wouldnt meet more friendly or helpful staff anywhere and although the staff appear to have changed over the years the high standards of those who have gone before is maintained. The only small difference we... More
