From the moment we were greeted by Laura and shown throughout the property to the highlight of tasting Dermots exquisite dinner, our visit to the OC was a special one. While the property has only seven rooms, each are decorated in their own personal style. The absence of TVs only adds to the atmosphere. Service from start to finish was... More

Loved The Convent. The small kitchen up stairs is a great idea. The music in the sitting room is really different and very relaxing. The food is up there with the best restaurants in the country. The chef here who is one of the owners and he really knows his food and he sources some great products locally which comes... More

Beautiful food - dinner and breakfast both superb and lots of extra treats, tea, coffee (and sweets) too. Loved the macaroons. Atmosphere fantastic - so relaxed. Staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Ideal for what we wanted. We were there for just one night but it was still a thoroughly relaxing stay. Will definitely be back.

Decided to go here on the basis of a recommendation for my birthday. From the moment we arrived until our departure the service was excellent. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Our room was upgraded to one of the suites (The Loft). Worth it just for the bath... Although there is no tv, there are portable DVD players and an array... More

Two nights stay there recently and we were spoiled from moment of arrival to moment of leaving. We had the Connemara Suite which has five windows on two sides of the building. The bathroom window looks right onto the Knockmealdown Mountain Range. The room is spacious and comfortable with a little separate seating area. The Bathroom is very large with... More

My wife and I stayed here recently for 1 night. We booked the restaurant which a lot of our friends recommend and then decided to stay the night even though we live within 20 miles. Restaurant is a lovely room with a nice atmosphere. The tasting menu was excellent. Food was fabulous. I really liked all the courses but my... More

Had a lovely night there with the tasting menu that night. Fantastic food. We were actually so full that we couldn’t fit any breakfast in the following morning- which I’ve heard is also superb. Maybe we should do a special trip back just to try the breakfast!

Just spend a few days staying at the Old Convent and it was total bliss. Our room was incredibly comfortable, with a huge bathroom and lovely views of the gardens and the mountains beyond. Dermot produces the most amazing meals whether it is breakfast or the 8 course tasting menu, and Christine is so incredibly friendly, nothing is too much... More

In a lovely corner of County Tipperary at the base of beautiful mountains you will find an extraordinary small hotel with some of the best food to be found in Ireland. From the moment we arrived at The Old Convent to a warm, personal greeting by Christine and the other staff, it was obvious that we had landed in a... More
