The hotel is beautiful, very clean, rooms very spacious and comfortable. We complained about how bad the food was (Tasteless) and the owner, Frank did not take it well at all. We were on a Groupon deal and he told us that he would not do the Groupon offer again as he felt it was not the sort of clientele... More

We spent a night at the Lake House because we chanced to meet a friend of the owner when we were passing through Sligo! Talk about lucky!!! This place is unbelievably beautiful!! Frank and his mom and the young lady at the front desk were charming and nice and fun!! And the location is absolutely one of the most beautiful... More

This is just a lovely hotel, Frank and all the staff go out of your way to make you welcome, from a terrific breakfast to a delicious dinner. We played golf in atrocious conditions in Cruit Island, a must play if you're in the area and arrived back absolutely soaked. I was immediately taken to the laundry room to dry... More

Just had a smashing evening at this hotel. A good steak meal - very friendly staff - a real find for anyone traveling around Donegal. The owner has put a lot of thought into the ambience - wonderful and plenty of Irish charm. Thank you.

Stayed in July 2013, room was clean but very basic and only had 2 working tv channels. Staff were friendly enough but the breakfast was very poor, the fry was poor quality and not tasty. The towels in the bathroom had holes in them and there was a lack of hot water for a shower. The hotel was cheap in... More

My husband and I had a short break in the above hotel on Friday and Saturday 19th & 20th July 2013. We were booked into a double room but were allocated a twin room. A small sachet (free sample size) of shower/bath gel was left in the bathroom for the first night but not replaced for the second night. There... More

Myself and partner stayed in the hotel on Sat 6th July and I feel that I need to provide some feedback regarding our stay. We were greeted by a lovely lady who was very helpful and friendly. We were allocated room 105 and on initial inspection we were very happy with the room. Later in the evening the room was... More

We stayed in this small but intimate hotel on Friday 28th June. We were a party of six, 2 adults and 4 children ranging in age from 6 to 11 years. We arrived late on Friday evening and after being welcomed by Mary, we were shown to 2 family rooms upstairs. The rooms were bright and very spacious, spotlessly clean... More

Positive points: good hot shower, clean room, fresh linens, fresh coffee. Additional blanket provided when it was cold the first night. Reading room/ communal area with TV and books and magazines available which seemed quiet cosy on the landing area. Negative points: Searched about but no one available to check out...processed my own fee and left a note on the... More
