We stayed with Johnny and his staff once again recently, having been recommended this beautiful spot last year. This hotel is ideally located just minutes from the beach and fabulous sunsets and churning surf. It is also ideally suited to touring the Malin Head peninsula, although we also travelled to Glenveigh and Church Hill from here no bother. Give Denis... More

We just had a family dinner in the restaurant during a stay and found the food to be very poor. For starters, we chose the "homemade soup" from the menu. However, to our surprise, the soup tasted exactly like the knorr packet soup that you buy in the supermarket with the same small dried pieces of vegetable. They did add... More

Stayed here for my brothers wedding on Saturday 8th February 2014, booked a family room for 3 which included breakfast, the price was fantastic. The hospitality we received in the hotel was amazing. The food was gorgeous and the staff where so friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless and really warm. I would recommend this hotel to stay in it... More

We stayed 3 nights, for a family wedding - they gave all the wedding party a special deal, which was good value. Lovely place to stay. Staff helpful and accommodating - we arrived near midnight, no problem! Breakfast 8-10.30am great for relaxing lie in! Amazing views. Efficient maid service cleaning rooms daily. Communal areas nice, although wifi only worked downstairs... More

I stayed in the wheelchair accessible room in The Strand Hotel, Ballyliffin in October 2013. This hotel is in a great location with beautiful scenic views. Staff were friendly and helpful. The accessible room is spacious with a double and single bed. However, as seen in attached photos, the single bed and locker are very close to the bathroom door,... More

Ballyliffin is a beautiful part of the world, but our stay at the Strand was somewhat disappointing. The room was cold, and it appeared the heating never came on during our 24hour stay. Showers were also lukewarm, and so it was difficult to get cosy…particularly disappointing at this time of the year! The room was more than big enough with... More

My husband and I went to wedding evening last Saturday and stayed in this hotel. This was our second time to book in here and like before we had a great service. Beautiful meal, very friendly staff and clean comfortable bedroom. Definitely will return again.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and even though we stayed on a GrabOne deal we were treated so very well and had such a relaxing break. The hospitality received was second-to-none, all members of staff were efficient, friendly and polite and nothing was a bother. Our room was very clean and comfortable and well maintained throughout our... More

Stayed in the Strand on Monday and Tuesday 5th and 6th December and whilst it's off season, the weather being unseasonably mild, is a fantastic stopping off point for discovering Donegal. The staff there couldn't do enough for us and constantly went out of their ways to make us feel very welcome. We even ambled down to eat at a... More
