We went over to cardigans to visit friends and wanted a bit of independence so booked this wonderful B and B. A short drive from Derry airport and within walking distance of a pub and a shop. Josephine the owner was a pure joy. So welcoming and charismatic. We arrived early but it was no bother and she prepared us... More

Our Inn keeper was lovely. The room was well decorated and the entire home elegant. But the most fantastic part was her breakfast with fresh plumbs prepared in a port wine and orange sauce, a variety of sweet breads, fresh fruit, delicious omelets, etc. and she gave us an excellent tip on the best walking tour in Derry. We highly... More

I first stayed at Mount Royd back in 2009 and have returned again and again. Josephine and Charlie always provide excellent service and accommodation, they take a genuine interest in their guests and want to make their stay perfect. I thought it was time I wrote another review but after reading through several reviews on here, I can see they... More

This was one of our favorite B&B stays while touring Ireland. The home had a classic manor house feel to it from the outside in. The room was spacious and clean...it even had a sitting room and doors that led to a backyard garden. Breakfast was delicious and the hostess was very knowledgeable about there area. If you are going... More

Covered in Ivy, Mount Royd is strikingly picturesque. The host was kind to us, and we loved our room. The bed was supremely comfortable, and the shower had surprisingly good pressure. The decor is a bit of a blast from the past, but even so, everything is well put together and well thought out in this home. There's even some... More

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in this very comfortable home. We were made very welcome with tea and very nice homemade cakes on arrival and our room was a delight with so many interesting touches, as indeed were the other public rooms. The breakfasts were probably the best we had during our trip to Ireland with a wonderful... More

Fabulous welcome with tea, scones and biscuits. Our room was spacious, nice bath with heated towels and power shower. Very Victorian with all the details. Scrupulously clean throughout. Breakfast as an unexpected delight that should put Mount Royd House on the map if for nothing else!

My husband and I, with another couple were on our first trip to Ireland in July and we stayed at Mount Royd Country Home, unfortunately for only one night. On our arrival, Josephine welcomed us with a beautiful afternoon tea with lots of lovely homemade biscuits and cakes. Josephine was very helpful when we discussed where to go for dinner... More

This was our first visit to this part of Ireland and we chose Mount Royd Country Home without knowing much about the area. What a wonderful surprise! This was one of our favorite areas, and certainly one of the best B & B's on our trip. The area is beautiful and it was a perfect spot to use as our... More

We were on the way between Antrim coast and Donegal, and arriving in Josephine's place was kind of a dream. It is like closing eyes and entering "Alice in wonderland" world, with hot welcome tea and home made cookies, incredible rooms so britishly decorated, great advices with this northern irish accent that we learnt to love. We spent only one... More
