This was the third time I've stayed at Mount Royd. I wanted to stay longer but could get reservations for only two days. Josephine said she was fully booked for the next three months. Look at my review from June of 2012 for more comments. The room I stayed in had been redecorated from my last trip. This is pretty... More

Visited for two nights with friends last week - 11 and 12 August. From the welcome to the good bye the experience was excellent. Josephine and Charlie are great hosts. Everywhere was well presented and really clean and tidy. Welcomed with tea, home made scones. bread and shortbread. Breakfasts are a feast to behold with fresh fruits, cereals, cheeses, home... During my Ireland-trip, i spent one night at the Mount Royd Country House. Nice hosts, a lovely hospitality. The room was simply amazing and done up in a luxury way. The breakfast was awesome and the awards on the wall of the dining room approve this. Moreover, you can choose between several breakfast meals. In addition: fresh, self-made orange juice,... More

We were working as part of the Donegal Rally team and we're staying for 1 night. We got a warm welcoming greeting when we arrived. We had just finished a long day standing out all day as part of the timing crew. When we arrived Josephine greeted us with a warm welcome and tea and coffee in her beautiful reciption... More

Our stay was a truly beautiful experience that was very positive from the onset. We were greeted cordially and warmly by the younger Mr. Martin who showed us to our room, and then provided a late afternoon tea as a greeting. We had a lovely spacious room that overlooked a storybook pastoral view, complete with frolicking sheep. In the morning... More

This time we returned to Northern Ireland with our friends and had to return to revisit Josephine's traditional country house. It is as good as it was on our first visit- lovely! Her wonderful 100 year old home, She has filled it with antiques, Bears , dolls and memorabilia everywhere. Lounge is very welcoming as is Josephine herself. She has... More

Mount Royd Country Home would have to rate as the best B&B we have ever stayed at, right from the moment Josephine opened the door we felt welcome, afternoon tea by a log fire, home made cakes & biscuits, exquisitely furnished bedrooms & the most lavish assortment of breakfast choices made this a memorable stay in this part of Ireland.

Google maps directed us past it, but good thing there's a sign outside!! Beautiful cozy home. Josephine treated us well, brought us tea by the fire. Once we figured out how to use the shower, everything was golden. And breakfast was delicious!! Lots of fruit too.

We've been to Ireland a dozen times and have stayed over 100 B & B's. This is absolutely the best B & B we've ever stayed in. Josephine and Charlie are friendly and attentive to your every need. The rooms are spotless, with towel warmers and great showers. Josephine had tea and homemade biscuits ready for us by a roaring... More
