Two years ago I visited Die Eike for the first time. I was incredibly impressed and always wanted to go back. It is a beautiful, tranquil setting and the building has a charm of its own. We finally decided to visit recently and it was such a disappointment. First the good: The bed was very comfortable and the bedding of... More

First we had to move our prebooked dates as the owner had a wedding suddenly. For this we were promised the executive suite. Well if that was the executive suite then i don't want to see the normal suites. But the room was clean. But only had 1 towel. When we went for breakfast we were asked if we were... More

My wife and I with our 11yr old son arrived at about 7pm to check in on the Friday evening. We were looking forward to a tranquil and peaceful weekend there as the venue is beautiful as one sees it on the website. The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful view overlooking vineyards. As we booked in a... More

We recently spent a weekend at the historic homestead, Die Eike, near Goudini Spa outside Rawsonville. We had a beautiful, well-appointed room, with the most wonderful bath! The scenery on this working wine and fruit farm at the foot of the majestic Du Toitskloof mountains was magnificent and provided great photo opportunities. The staff was friendly and helpful and the... More

We got to the guest house quite late and had difficulty getting hold of the owner/manager. Eventually we did and were given our room keys. We were two couples and had a room which lead into another room then into a shared bathroom. I found this a bit inconvenient so check the room you are booking before you get there.

Die Eike is the perfect setting for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hostess (Grieta) is very accommodating when servicing any requests. Breakfast offered appropriate options for a country inn. The surrounding environment is the perfect setting for anyone seeking to re-connect with nature. I've thoroughly... More

We searched for accommodation in the Rawsonville area for 14 family members in January 2014 and decided on Die Eike Guest House on a beautiful wine and fruit farm, surrounded by majestic mountains. On arrival we experienced a very warm welcome from our hosts who allocated our lovely rooms. We really loved the airconditioning as this area experiences very hot weather this... More

We were very much looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend in the Slanghoek Valley with our family. However, as soon as we arrived at Die Eike I was taken aback with the not-very-friendly welcome we received. Our room was in the converted stable and it was clean enough, save a few spiders, but there was an overwhelmingly sickly sweet... More

I surprised my boyfriend with a weekend away and decided to make Die Eike our base camp while exploring the area of Rawsonville. The little house has been converted into 3 separate rooms and we had the one on the end which was shaded by an oak tree, next to a babbling brook. The views over the low white washed... More

Very nice trip away for me and my wife. The rooms are basic, but very beautifully done. The hosts are very hospitable and the highpoint must be the king sized bed with down duvet. However the on site restaurant closed before 8pm, despite us being informed it stays open until 10pm.
