clean room , if not a little dated lots of hot water and friendly check in no dining options but a continental brekky could have been pre booked had the heater and electric blankets on all night as the concrete block walls make it cold nice location by the sea , A little overpriced for the quality and dated ness... We have stayed in this Lodge twice, and really enjoyed it. It is on a quiet traffic road and has a lovely outlook over a tidal inlet. Some units have full cooking facilities, and some only have a microwave oven. There are suites with the bed in the one room and 2 bedroom suites. Mangonui has a village atmosphere with... More

If you are looking for good, clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation in this beautiful part of New Zealand then look no further than Acacia Lodge. The lodge offers a pool, views overlooking the bay, a short walk into the village of Mangonui where you will find a licenced hotel plus various eating places and convenience shops. The Lodge management are... More

Lovely views over the pool & bay. Rooms were spotlessly clean and tidy. Lovely heated swimming pool which was great for the kids. Nice hot showers and fresh towels each morning if needed. We really enjoyed our stay although not much to do when the weather is not so good. We took plenty of games for the kids & the... More

The location is superb on the shore on Mill Bay in Mangonui. Great places to walk to close by. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and gave us a free upgrade for the two nights we stayed. We love Mangonui. We really enjoyed staying here.

Would not agree with the previous negative reviews. We found this hotel to be really good. We were there for three nights. We had a room on the top floor facing the sea. The room was beautifully decorated, with exposed wooden beams, comfortable armchairs, large TV and nice balcony. The bed was extremely comfortable. We were given a fan upon... More

This place is fine as somewhere to sleep, but otherwise it's very basic, reminds me of motels in the 1970's. Get the feeling it's being run on a shoestring as it appeared to be up for sale. Would look around a bit more next time, booked it in a hurry.

This most have been the worst "hotel" on our entire trip: The whole room looks and feels like a garage with a window front spanning ohne side - and every other guest walking by and looking inside! Furniture and appliance are very basic and worn. Theoretically there is a view but you need to be able to look around the... More

We booked a Budget unit as nothing else available. Dated and certainly not stylish but had everything necessary including comfortable double bed. Very clean with lovely views over the estuary. Unfortunately strict rules meant that visitors could not use the pool which disappointed our visiting grand children. Maybe this should be at Motel Owner's discretion, or be mentioned on the... Very close to the village of Mangonui. Spotlessly clean and well appointed. Paid extra for a "view", which was disappointing. Lack of privacy irksome (people walking past and looking directly in). I dont like net curtains , but these would have solved this problem.
