Was here on st patricks day and had the salmon myself. I was in when the carvery was still open so had a great selection of food which also included beef and Turkey/ham, Staff where lovely and in great humor. For a great dinner it was a great price at €8.50 and would definitely come back.

We ended up staying at the Angler's rest since our hostel of choice (Sandville House) unfortunately was fully booked. The staff was friendly and the double-room we stayed in was simple and clean (on a scale from 1-5 I'd give it at 3) BUT the room was apparently right above the kitchen and only had a single window with the... This is a nicely presented pub with good steaks and great beer battered cod. Generally good pub food. Best of its kind in the area. I would have given it a five if it were not for a couple of niggles, the rule about must have chips and won't substitute mash or wedges! What's that about, they require you to... More

Fantastic Steak easily the biggest on the whole island of Ireland with a few changes...I'd change the peas to a beef tomato and crispy onion other than those (personal choices) hands down 10/10..... Well Done

Enjoyed some of the best food and Guinness here!! The steak is enormous and flavorful- plenty for 2 to share- and the fish n chips were wonderful! The Guinness with black current made a Guinness drinker out of me (I don't typically enjoy dark beers). The atmosphere is very relaxing, and staff was very helpful and attentive. The bedroom was... I have to say having read some of the other reviews on here I was surprised to see some people didnt have a good time - how can you fail to have a good time here if you like Guiness and good steak. I had half a cow (fillet) - ok it wasnt cheap but I'm telling you it was... More

Spent a fantastic week at Angler's Rest in Ballyconnell. It's the best place for miles around to put your feet up after a long day's fishing and chat to the locals and fellow anglers about the one that got away. Serves a damned fine pint of Guinness too. And for those who didn't manage to catch their tea, this place... More

We heard such good reviews about the food here that we went out of the way to go and taste the food, it was absolutely fantastic - we both had steak, it was massive it absolutely filled the plate, accompanied with chips which were homemade they were absolutely beautiful, the staff were so friendly and very attentive. We were so... More

Went there on Sunday night for food. They have this ridiciouls ploicy that you can not subsuitute the chips that come with meal for wedges and if you want wedges it will cost a further 4 euros. Mad when people are looking for good value the food was nice but nothing amazing, Chef paid no heed to food requests on... More
