Stayed here one night en route but would have been happy to have stayed longer. The building may look past its best but it is delightful inside and full of character; Claude and Pascal are very welcoming and helpful, the rooms were terrific being very well lit with multiple power points. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was really excellent... More

We stayed one night whilst on a road trip. This is a nice place to stay and has lots of character. However, the hotel is beginning to show its age, and in keeping with the whole town has a slightly run down air about it. We arrived at about 8.45 pm and like most of France this is getting too... If you want something old style French this is worth a visit. I'm guessing the hotel was originally created in the early 1900's It has a wonderful calm garden and terrace behind a large wall and wrought iron gates. (Where we sat and drank a local wine and had breakfast in the morning). Yes the rooms are old but everything... More

Room simple, but plenty of space and upstairs games room lovely place to sit and read. Monday night not a good night for eating in Chatillon, other hotel in the town does a reasonable meal, but not much else happening. Lovely little town. Hotel Sylvia has a great breakfast in quiet garden surroundings on the right day: food lovely and... More

Hotel Sylvia is starting to show her age but, in a sense this is part of the charm. Pascal and Claude's eclectic tastes make s a stay here a very enjoyable experience. Rooms are large and comfortable but some work could be done on the bathrooms (everything works though). For me the highlight at The Hotel Sylvia is the breakfast,... More

We stayed for 1 night and our room was large with windows on two sides. It was typically French and set in lovely gardens. The owners were great and couldn't do enough for us. We even got our own garage for the motorbike. The breakfast was delicious with lots of homemade jams etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a night here during a cycle trip in France. The owners could not have been more helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Showers lovely. The courtyard full of flowers. They could not do enough for us. I agree, a real piece of France.

Don't bother staying here. Only a curtain to the bathroom. Owner very miserable. Didn't tell us we had to vacate the room by 10.30am. We went to the super market over the road in the morning around 10am and he phoned them to tell us we had to be out of the room in 5 minutes!! Very put out that... More

Our stay in the Sylvia Hotel was very pleasant. Only one night - we hadn't reserved and my husband being a biker HAD to have a safe place for his motorbike. We were given a key to a private lock-up garage, my husband was thrilled. The hotel (early 19th century manor house) was ideal - and the breakfast with home-made... More
