This is a romantic spot in an area of outstanding beauty. A restaurant supplied by its own farm which has a few rooms, although now with an emphasis on the hotel aspect. It is unquestionably rustic, but the rooms are perfectly comfortable. There is an indoor pool with sauna (I think it is very cold later in the year). There... More

We had a great time at A Pignata and we did eat a lot. The Lonely Planet was not joking when they suggested you should fast before the 7-course dinner menu. On the plus side: lovely setting away from civilization, great food, updated room, heated pool, nice decoration throughout and we liked the architecture of the buildings. It is really... More

This is a stunning property, graced by one of the most wonderful restaurants in the Alta Rocca, but I cut my visit short because they made me feel unwelcome. I made the reservation and spoke to a lady in English, and never saw her again. No one else spoke English, except the waiter. HIs English was fine, though he ignored... More

The good parts- lovely setting and views, attractive "stylish-rural" buildings which make the most of setting. We chose A Pignata for the food reputation, and some of the food was very good - though we had not realised it is a set meal - so if you don't like quite a lot of meat, I would not stay here. We... The highlight was the food, a genuine Corsican experience, with genuine hospitality. The room was simple, but efficient and fit the environment. Don't miss the nearby ruins at Cucuruzzo. Very peaceful.

Our main reason for choosing a pignata was for the food, and while the food was delightful, the other aspects were lovely as well. I travel a lot (Corsica thrice), and have stayed in numerous B&Bs. A pignata was overall a good value and I would return. The first night, we arrive at 9pm and though the staff was a... More

This country inn is renowned for it’s 7 course dinners of local specialties. It’s a charming place with a wonderful view of distant mountains and we were in a stone annex off the reception with a little terrace and two chairs. However, despite it’s expense, there were a number of omissions or inconveniences that you don’t expect in a luxury... More

An excellent restaurant in a beautiful setting, albeit a heck of a trip to get there if you are not staying the night. The views are excellent and the dining room very pleasant. Food is very good indeed and an excellent way of sampling local rustic cuisine, at a reasonable price (not cheap, and given the nature of the food... More

The first hotel we have ever found where to accommodate a 2 years old child in a baby bed you pay an extra of 55 Euro per day on top of the 260 Eur for the double room! The owners say this is the price for the half-board treatment but then we find out by chance that the price for... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, in a superior room, this one having a private terrace (giving some good shade, although a bit less privacy), the room itself has sober decoration and (only) shower and no AC (which might be usefull during hot summer nights, as the sliding door are in the same time the window, we left it open...
