This B&B has been run by a welcoming British couple for 7 years and is a nice respite if you are travelling around. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the bedrooms but there is also a little kitchen area where guests are welcome to make a picnic lunch etc. Our room was very large and the bathroom even... Superb, friendly, and relaxed stay. Mark and Alison are great hosts and this really does feel like staying with friends. The bedrooms are all different but well appointed...ours had a huge bed and the biggest bathroom ever with a roll top bath and separate shower. Breakfast is French Continental with additional fresh fruit, yogurts and home made jam and honey.... More

Don't be fooled by the modest exterior, this is a great B&B. We arrived soaking wet after cycling in the rain for most of the day and got a very warm welcome from Mark and Alison. We had the biggest room and bathroom I think we have ever stayed in on a French holiday, complete with freestanding bath and 6ft... More

Wow, wow ,wow! From the wonderful Kings room, the use of a full kitchen, homely breakfast around a huge table to the outstanding hospitality from Mark and Alison, this B&B is truly exceptional. It felt like staying with old friends. We spent 2 nights as part of a cycling holiday in the area and this was by far the best... More

We totally endorse the superlatives described in other reviews. We spent seven nights, and our stay was hugely enhanced by Mark and Alison's wonderful help, advice and lending us train timetables, maps, etc, not to mention the free use of their two excellent bicycles, enabling us to bike along the cycle paths alongside the canal without worrying about traffic, and... We couldn't praise the service at this wonderful B&B enough! We stayed there two nights before a week of canal boating. Mark and Alison went out of their way several times during our stay, which occurred during a train strike, helping with transport and recommendations. Our room was large and comfortable, the en suite huge and well-equipped. Being able to... More

Alison and Mark Walters are friendly Brits who run this B&B in Vermenton . A group of 9 Australian cyclists recently spent 2 nights here as part of a headwater tour . The welcome was very friendly with the offer of cold beer in the guest fridge . It works on an honour system , just replace what you drink... More

My wife and I stayed at 15 Place Voltaire as part of a cycling holiday in late August. Hosts Alison and Mark are British and very welcoming. It's centrally located in this quiet town. There are about five guest rooms. Ours was large and comfortable with an enormous and well-equipped bathroom. They know British taste as it was the only... More

Our travelling companion summed our stay up perfectly ' feels like home'. This was our companions 5th visit to 15 Place Voltaire and our 2nd. We received another warm welcome from Alison and Mark. What we love about this place is that you can please yourself. There is a super courtyard garden and a very handy kitchen for preparing supper... More

Rare is the accommodation that exceeds your expectations. This place does it. It's a charming little village villa with a tranquil courtyard, comfortable rooms, great beds and welcoming hosts. What's more, breakfast is "continental" but generous with fresh bread, croissants, fresh and stewed fruits, cereal, good coffee and tea. Expect a quiet and courteous reception from Alison or Mark, English... More
