I choose the Chateau de Violet via Internet. It seems a nice place: swimming pool, restaurant, wine cellars, quiet place in a beautiful French region, near Carcassone, Narbonne, Le Canal du Midi, the Catars Abbeys and Castles and a lot of other interesting things. Just returned from a short but intense visit to France and found the Chateaux by chance, when the Rick Steve's recos were booked. A happy accident! The Chateaux is a little worn around the edges, but that only adds to the ambience. And the Patron? She is a gem. The food for dinner and breakfast was some of the best... More

In 2001, a friend and I spent 3 weeks traveling around France. My favorite place was the Chateau de Violet.
