This is the best place I have ever stopped. Rooms were fabulous, all details thought about, even after returning to our room after dinner on a chilly evening, a hot water bottle had been placed in the bed! A lovely touch. Staff all friendly and very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Food was excellent and presented beautifully. Views from your... More

Located in the National Park, the lodge offers every guest stunning views from their room. The decoration of the main reception / dining area and of every room is done to the finest taste. I had a living room that opened to a balcony with a hammock. The bedroom was on the second floor, looking out to the mountain and... More

This is a lovely guest house, our room was really nice, huge with a large balcony. The open fire was brilliant. We didn't have breakfast there but I must say that I was disappointed with the dinner on the one night we had it there. There was very little choice, portions were small and we were put at a large... Only stayed here for two nights but we would certainly return. Warm welcome from friendly staff, great room (including the monkeys on the balcony) and excellent food. Communal dining worked well but there is the option to have an individual table and some took that option. Would certainly return here another time.

This is a wonderful place as described by many others, with wonderful touches such as Hot Water bottles left in your bed at night, car washed eery morning and the food is well presented and of the quality of a top class restaurant. The only reason I never gave it 5 stars was really to highlight the pint made by... More

Really enjoyed our stay here only wished we could have had longer. Greeted with a glass of sparkly, amazing views and lovely room. Monkeys on the roof were as a bonus as was the hammock on the veranda. Communal dining was great fun although not sure how happy the staff were that we kept them up chatting!! Wine by the... More

I stayed here with my husband for two nights in August. How I wished we could have stayed longer. This is the most beautiful lodge in a wonderful setting. Our room, reached down a wooden walkway, had the most amazing views of the mountains. We could sit on our deck with a glass or two and listen to all the... More

Stayed at Hogs Hollow as part of tour around Garden Route during August 2012. The accommodation, food and staff were all fantastic, we'd have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending. Only stayed for a couple of nights, but wish we'd booked in for longer! You won't be disappointed.

This posting is one of several reporting on our Aug. 2012 family trip (2 grandparents, 2 parents, two 10 year olds) to Johannesburg (Westcliff Hotel), Victoria Falls (Royal Livingstone Hotel), Botswana (Camps: Kwetsani, Little Mombo, Jack's Camp). All booked through the tour operator Africa Odyssy. An add-on trip was done by myself & husband to Cape Town, Plett Bay &... More

One of the most amazing and idyllic places ever stayed. Attention to detail superb, being there in their winter climate chilly at night, room equipped with log fire and supplied with hot water bottles as a surprise once in bed! The rooms were individual huts over looking the lush dense forests, views beautiful. Staff most helpful, even picking us up... More
