This was our second visit and this time we stayed in Tom's barn which was excellent. There is so much going for it: Great location, well kitted-out kitchen, comfortable, warm, quiet... I could go on. And of course John and Marion who are as wonderful and helpful as ever. I would recommend this as one of the best cottages of... More

Tom's Barn was a perfect choice for our trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All the contacts withthe owners were helpful and friendly and very efficient. The cottage was perfect - so comfortable and well equipped. Our arrival wa welcomed with homemade cake and a warm log burner. There were so many little extras and we especially enjoyed the maps... Douglas's Barn is a treasure - and so are Marion and John who have managed to get everything just right to restore and refresh you, mind, body and spirit. We were delighted by all the little extra touches (things you rarely find in self-catering) and revelled in the comfort, peace and quiet. Every day we went walking (just step outside... More

We had a wonderful welcome from our charming hosts John and Marion to Tom's Barn. The cottage was prepared with such loving and unusual attention to detail, ie. fire lit and gentle music and tea with cake on arrival. Absolutely everything provided and thought of, so much care and attention given to comfort and convenience. Spent one day at Dovedale,... More

What a glorious find! Welcomed by home baked cookies, a beautifully laid out tea tray and a warm slab of simnel cake. Marion and John couldn't have been more kind and welcoming. They really had thought of everything, music playing, dinner made by their neighbour Val ready to pop into the oven, fresh flowers which lasted the whole week. It... More

A rather overdue review! We stayed at Toms barn in January 2014, we had a truly wonderful stay. This was our first family holiday with our baby daughter and Daisy the dog. I really struggled finding 'luxury dog friendly' accommodation, Tom's barn was exactly what I had envisioned. Marion and John were very welcoming and really did ensure we had... More

We have just returned from our third visit to the Barns (second to Douglas's) and like the previous visitors we find it harder to leave each time we stay. Marion and John have created the most delightful place to relax and unwind, this time we even managed to spend a day in the cottage instead of dashing off on another... More

It is now ten years since our first visit to Tom's Barn and as each year passes we find it harder to leave. John and Marion go out of their way to ensure you have a perfect holiday. The barn is spotless and extremely well equipped. As you walk through the door and hear the soft music, see the flowers... More

Tom's and Douglas's Barns are two romantic cottages for two in the beautiful Peak District. Both Tom's Barn - which welcomes dogs - and Douglas's Barn are luxury 5 Star & Gold Award self-catering cottages, ideal for solo travellers or couples. You'll enjoy 21st century comfort and warmth in 18th century ancient limestone cowsheds, attached to the owners’ home in the peaceful White Peak village of Parwich. Next to open countryside – with walks in every direction – the generously equipped cottages are secluded and peaceful, yet only a shortish stroll from the village pub and shop. There is much to see and do nearby: the countryside is stunning, Chatsworth is nearby and also Dovedale, the famous beauty spot.
