Staying at marchesi alfieri is a privilege and an individual experience. It is extremely well priced. There are less than 10 rooms and operates more as a b&b. Our room exceeded expectations in that it was large, included bath robes, antique furnishings, a shared kitchen and was part of the winery buildings. The breakfast focussing on local produce was served... More

Nice and wonderful place to stay in an old property of Asti. Well equipped. Good breakfast. Marchesi Alfieri also has its own vineyard and you could take a visit too. Very friendly staffs. Will sure return during the next Piedmont tour.

I stayed here for 3 days and it was superb. I could not fault a thing. The suite was beautiful and clean. We had full access to the castle grounds and the views were glorious. The Concordia trattoria just along the road was very good. We also had a tour of the wine cellars. Nothing was too much trouble for... More

We stayed in La Locanda, the Nebbiolo room. We also enjoyed a tasting and tour. The lady who checked us in, gave us the tour and tasting. It was great. Coming from San Francisco and the expensive, impersonal tastings and tours in Napa valley, this was a breath of fresh air. The tour of the estate, cellar, and winery was... More

This little hotel is a gem. It’s part of a working winery, but the rooms are fully renovated and have every modern convenience. The view from our room was incredible (we stayed in the Nebbiolo room). The winery contains of several fantastic old buildings and a beautiful park that surrounds them. The breakfast was delicious and the service very friendly.... More

We stayed in Castello for 3 days for my husband's birthday. When I first realized that we were not staying inside Castello, I was frustrated but when I saw the romantic place they reserved for us I was very pleased. To stay in San Martino Alfieri was a unique experience for all of us. The breakfast was excellent. They prepared... More

Our stay was fantastic. We were very attentively hosted throughout the stay. The breakfast was based on local products and included homemade cakes and pudding. This was the best breakfast for a long time. We recommend to make a visit to the gardens and cellars and an explanation of how their wine is made, which was kindly suggested by Isella.... More

I stayed there recently with my husband, sister and brother in law. We absolutely loved this place. My husband and I want to go back for weekend get aways. Im not sure where the previous reviewer stayed but we were in The Margherita house. There may be a difference between the hotel rooms and the villa. The Margherita house was... More

What a mistake. We were excited about staying on among the beautiful vineyards. The hotel however is located maybe 50 yards off the main road ,facing a driveway and the other side only windows above head level facing a parking courtyard(if you open those windows anyone in the courtyard can have a view of the bathrooms and bedroom.I'll take their...
