Always nice to find Gaels are your hosts.Very impressed with the quality of this, one of the few bed and breakfast options (the only one?) on Eriskay. Quality, spacious room and nice furniture, good en suite and very pleasant lounge with some good magazines and books to read with a small sea view.I wouldn't quite call it boutique hotel standard though... What a fabulous place - every comfort you could want with comfortable king size bed, large high powered shower and toiletries, comfortable lounge and homebaking in the room! Two minutes walk from the pub and very convenient for ferry to Barra. Very friendly, warm and professional host - easily our favourite place in two weeks on the islands, massively recommended.... Warm welcome from Mary and John, two people with the softest Hebridean accents and kindest hearts. Allowed our children to camp in the garden as they only had one room available, charged them a pittance for the loveliest breakfast. We had a fabulous room, more boutique hotel than B&B. Ate at Am Politician and ceilidh-ed up at the community hall. Many... More

Lovely rooms, immaculate B&B with great breakfast and very friendly owner. Ideal location and very comfortable. Bedroom and en-suite bathroom finished to a very high standard. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other travellers.

Spotlessly clean, modern bungalow. Spacious room and comfortable bed. Mary MacInnes was a friendly and helpful hostess. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Eriskay is a beautiful island. Am Politician is also worth visiting, and is just across the road from Oir na Mara. Listen for the Corncrakes at night.

A very well appointed bed and breakfast with a homely feel and great food. 5 minutes walk to the SS Politician pub, which also does great food. Looks out from the lounge to the Atlantic. Very friendly welcome. I have no hesitation in recommending it to you

We stayed here while touring the hebrides and we could not fault it. Plenty of off road parking, a very friendly welcome and a lovely room. The room was sooo clean, I've never seen such a clean room. The bed was amazingly comfy so we both got an excellent nights sleep helped by the fact that there was no noise... More

Unfortunately I have found that some of the recent rave reviews in TA are not really justified. Are people so easily pleased? However Oir an Mara really does justify a rave review. For a reasonable price, Mary MacInnes does more or less everything right for a small B & B. This is a modern bungalow and the rooms are warm,... More

This is an excellent place to stay. If I were going to the area again I would stay longer here and visit the South Uist area and even further North. As it was we were traveling down from Stornaway to Barra and then ferry to Oban. Ideal setting with beach walks and of course the Politician pub just 50 yards... More

There was nothing really wrong with this B&B although we prefer to stay at places where we are welcomed into somebody's home rather than being a hotel guest. Mary welcomed us, showed us the room and that was the last we saw of her until much later in the evening. The room was clean and functional but was reminisent of... More
