We stayed here for 2 nights during a 2 week tour around Sri Lanka. Set in a magical setting overlooking the Knuckles mountain range, this place is extremely special. Small boutique hotel with lots of charm. We did "Charlies walk" from the hotel. A 3 hour walk around the local hills and villages. The views are stunning and the locals... More

Our family of 7 stayed here for 4 nights. The views were truly amazing even if the surrounding hills drifted in and out of clouds while we were there. The staff led by Amila made our stay perfect, nothing was a problem. Sebastian the chef gave us some of the finest breakfasts and dinners we have had and he was... More

We had 7 continuous days of rain and white-outs, and yet we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rangala, thanks to the wonderful setting (even when you can't see it), all the staff and Anthony, the perfectly warm and homey and cozy vibe. The setting and the set-up are simply unbeatable. (This was our 5th or 6th year at Rangala, and... More

Situated about an hour out of Kandy, this is an alternative to the day-long trip to Newara Elia to see tea plantations and enjoy some mountain air. It is an old house that has been converted to a small hotel with fairly basic rooms, but an astonishingly beautiful outlook. They provide lunch on request (need to book ahead to ensure... More

Where to begin... The hosts, Anthony and Sam, have designed a beautiful home that boasts a large, well appointed verandah that affords spectacular vistas of a lush valley. Whilst the house itself is beautiful, it is the hosts and their staff that make it a home. Anthony and Sam are superb hosts and excellent company. From the moment we arrived... More

We stayed at Rangala for two nights and loved it. Our room was simple but very comfortable, and opened onto the wonderful deck with views forever. Sam and his staff were friendly, very natural and eager to help at all times. A delight. The recommended walks through the tea plantations were excellent, the best we had in Sri Lanka. We... More

My two friends and I spent two nights here and enjoyed every moment. We shared one room and found the bedroom spacious and very comfortable. Everything about our stay was perfect. We had spent the previous two weeks travelling round Sri Lanka so wanted some peace, quiet and comfort before we flew back to Ireland and Rangala House provided all... More

We spent 2 nights here. Unbelievable views form the verandah. Anthony, the owner was always interested in us and gave great advice on where to walk and what to see. Did 2 great walks into the tea plantations which were almost our SL highlight. My only gripe is that this was the only place in SL where we didn't get... More

Spent 2 nights in this beautifully located property and wished we had a bit longer to relax and enjoy the hospitality and views. The owner Anthony was onsite and made us very welcome, with good suggestions on the best trails to walk through the tea plantations (including a local factory) and interesting experience to share on Sri Lankan life (wild-... Rangala House is absolutely delightful in every way. The owners are charming and cultured, the staff are kind and helpful, the food is delicious, the garden is paradise. The whole house is spotless. There is a lovely broad terrace with a magnificent view, and steps down to a clean pool surrounded by flowers, bushes, trees and a few sculptures. Inside... More
