Our family of 9 adults , 1 teen and 6 children were welcomed by helpful friendly staff. The food was good and good value. They were happy to change items on the menu to cater for personal taste in fact nothing was too much trouble. They knew we were on a tight schedule as we had a booking on the... More

Came here on Sunday the 22nd November with family. 16 of us in total en route to Polar Express. The food was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough to accommodate us all. The food was also priced extremely well and a very varied choice, especially for a Sunday afternoon.

We stayed and ate here. The rooms are really cheap but lack frills. They didn't have heating on even though it was really cold at night and they don't come in to service the rooms during the stay. However the room did look recently decorated and was smart and clean. The food is reasonable and all the staff are really... More

Its a lovely pub and the staff are very friendly. They have a really good choice of ales if that is what you like. I advise you take a walk down to the river if you have the time, it's so picturesque and only 10 minutes walk.

We stopped here for a meal today and found it to be excellent. The staff were helpful and friendl and the food was delicious. There was a short wait for the food but when it arrived we understood why, everything was handmade and tasted marvellous. The portions were huge too. We'd definitely go back.

I stayed here with friends on a stopover on the C2C. The positives are that the staff were friendly and helpful and the food that we had in the evening was good and breakfast was ok. Our room that slept 6 was basic but clean. On the downside the shower was intermittent hot and cold as it was for my... More

I stayed at the pub for 2 nights with my friends for the local festival. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and substantial. All the staff were really friendly. We also saw the band on the Saturday night who were excellent. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Thank you
