I stayed here with friends on a stopover on the C2C. The positives are that the staff were friendly and helpful and the food that we had in the evening was good and breakfast was ok. Our room that slept 6 was basic but clean. On the downside the shower was intermittent hot and cold as it was for my... More

I stayed at the pub for 2 nights with my friends for the local festival. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and substantial. All the staff were really friendly. We also saw the band on the Saturday night who were excellent. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Thank you

Ten of us stayed on the last leg of our coast to coast bike ride, room allocation and organisation was a bit sketchy but rooms were clean and staff were friendly. Good pub, live band was good fun but waited over an hour and a half for dinner and when it finally arrived the food was very disappointing.

Stanhope has a History within The Land of The Prince Bishops. The Bonny Moor Hen continues to be part of that Future as in it's Past. With a long Bar; Function Room and Beer Garden it offers a variety of excellent meals with occasional entertainment to boot! Having visited several times I can recommend that, amongst the chaos of a... More

We visited Stanhope in May a party of 6. We all exibit vintage motorbikes and were attending the local vintage rally. We decided to visit the Bonnie Moorhen after reading the special board outside the pub. We were not dissapointed. At two meals for ten pounds they were very good value. The chips were chunky and well cooked. Cornbeef pie,... More

You have to visit 'The Bonny Moorhen' to experience the best Sunday Lunch in the Dale:we were out visiting relatives and decided to stop in Stanhope for our lunch. We were 'meeted and greeted' as soon as we opened the main door and then shown through to the dining room. Our drinks order was taken and menus provided immediately. We... More

Called in 'for one' when out for a walk - ended up staying all afternoon and having some lunch too! the staff were really friendly and accommodating - we were a group of 8 with 3 dogs and felt welcomed - and I don't expect to have nicer chips anywhere else this year!
