Stayed here on the C2C route and arrived wet, cold and exhausted. Lorraine and Terry gave us a warm welcome and immediately set about drying us out and filling us with hot drinks and welcomed us to a wonderfully warm and cosy guesthouse. The rooms were comfortable, with good food and a great breakfast . I would have no reservation... More

Arrived wet cold and exhausted. Lorraine and Terry gave us a warm wellcolm dried us all out and provided a wonderfully warm and cosy guesthouse. Comfortable rooms, Good food and a great breakfast .I would have no reservation about recommending the Parkhead Station as a place to stay during your coast to coast.

We stayed at this B & B on the C2C trail recently. What a hill to climb up to get there! It was such a relief to find the location. Beautiful area and great service made us feel human again! The evening meal was delightful and nothing was too much for the owners who were always at hand. Met some... More

Cycled to Parkhead Station today on the C2C trail, last time I visited was in 2000. May I say the welcome by the owners, the cake and coffee was every bit as memorable as the first time. Well done to keep going and hope my next visit is sooner than later. Keep up the great service as bikers and fell... More

Is this place actually open...? Really I live and work in the area and I have followed the signs from the top of crawleyside bank assuring would be patrons that the place so open I have left the main road followed the very rough track to the building where a sign assure you it is open but to try the... To me, this place is everything you would want from a B&B. A warm welcome from the moment you walk in the door, lovely, clean and modern rooms (all with a view), friendly conversation and help throughout your stay, lovely food, a cosy and welcoming restaurant, oh and did I mention that its situated at the top of a hill... Only stopped (briefly) for coffee and a sausage sarnie after cycling from Broompark along Lanchester Valley and Wakerley Way. Very warm welcome and in such an atmospheric setting. Liked the quaint setting and quirkiness of the place. Apparently they 'do' a Sunday lunch for £5.99 so we will return to try this too.

I discovered this lovely guest house as light was beginning to fade at the end of a steep climb up from Stanhope. The setting, at 1,500ft in the North Pennines, is magnificent if somewhat eerie - you feel that you are in the middle of nowhere. But any feelings of being alone are soon quashed once Terry and Lorraine appear... More

After a long ride from Penrith up hill and down dale, our group were all ready for a warm welcome, hearty meal and a cozy place to recount the tales of the day. Thankfully we chose the Parkhead Station for our nightstop. Lorraine and Terry were the perfect hosts and welcomed us warmly. They were very accomodating to our changing... More

I stayed here for one night whilst completing the coast to coast bike ride. After cycling 60 miles to get there I was relieved to find welcoming hosts, immaculate clean rooms and fantastic home cooked food. I slept extremely well in the lovely bed and woke to a fantastic breakfast. I fully intend to return to this lovely location with... More
