The owner Ray claims that this is the oldest gold rush hotel in BC, so character abounds throughout. The room was fine and the bathroom particularly nice. There are no mod cons in the room, so it's down to the lounge to watch TV, chat to other guests, or be regaled by stories about the bat who flies around the... More

If you ever find yourself travelling up Trans Canada #1 or Highway 12 to Merritt, BC; stop at Spencer's Bridge to smell the best air around. In summer the wheat grass mixes with frsh waterfall water and clean mountain air breezes. This forgotten about town is so awesome ramshackle as this hotel is also is its unique beauty. Easy going... We had lunch on the patio overlooking the river. Homemade food the way your grandmother used to make - right down to the bread. Local fruit, and when we asked about it, the owner brought us a sampling of what she had. Osprey were nesting nearby and they even provided binoculars to watch them. Really a beautiful afternoon with a... More

This was not my first stay. This will not be my last stay. This hotel is a destination itself. It could be a weekend getaway by itself. Location is wonderful. The hotel is nostalgic. Ray adds the character to this beauty that makes it what it is. Thank you. Something is right at The Inn, for I slept through the... More

I am drawn here annually for my holiday. I come for the warm weather, the cycling along hwy 8 and mountain roads, the morning view over the river and the tasty nutritious homemade breakfast. I come for the overall atmosphere, and the chance to have sincere small talk with real people and families - both local and other travelers and... More

All of my stays here have been awesome! I love the building and I love the owner. It's got history and it's own personality. It feels more like an extended family's place than an business. The food is wonderful too.

You can't help but like this place. It's comfy, welcoming and clean. We arrived on a boiling hot day en route to the Cariboo. Our room was clean, cool and comfortable. As others have said, if you want the Four Seasons, don't stop here (in fact, don't stop in Spences Bridge) but we were so pleased with the care, concern... More

Do you like character and small-town charm? The Inn at Spences Bridge is clearly a labour of love. The owner/manager has taken great care to restore the historic road house. He is a friendly and welcoming host. He has always made an effort to accommodate our needs, including the times when we brought our geriatric dog along with us. The... More

Interesting place, interesting history and interesting location. Admittedly, it is near a main line railway track but I did not find that troubling. I had a nice room overlooking the river. The room and onsuite bathroom showed that a lot of care had gone in to restoring a very old building. The owner/manager/bottle washer is an entertaining and knowledgeable guy.... More

I am sorry for the people who can't appreciate this historic inn for the beauty of the setting and the eclectic nature of the building. No, it's not a chain hotel, with every room being the same, sterile accomodation. It's old, the decor is outdated, there are trains. But look past all that. Our room, Zen, was large with a... More
