My room was spacious I saw the pool but didn't use it. Although it seems to be miles from anywhere but a twenty minute walk gets you to st clears where Welsh legends delme Thomas Mike Phillips and Jonathan Davies circa 2014 first played. I would recommend turning left out of the hotel onto path walk through the first single... More

Stopped of here for a meal on way home. The home made lasagne was stodgy and they seemed to have forgotten to put in the mince and as for the curry it had no flavour to it. Needless to say didn't stop for dessert was not going to risk it. Gave it 2 stars for the helpful waitress after all... More

The Forge is a diner / motel by the side of the main dual carriageway between Carmarthen and St. Clears. The rooms are dated with quilts and furnishings that were probably the height of fashion ..... in 1980 !! Having said that, the room was comfy, clean and large enough for a single traveller, likewise the bathroom although the showerhead... More

Having stayed here a few times now, I am always amazed by how they aways manage to make outstanding food regardless to how many they have to cater for. The breakfasts are always perfectly cooked as are the evening meals. All the staff are freindly and happy to help anyway they can. A great stay every time!

We were a bit dubious about The Forge when we booked it, but with a lack of dog friendly accommodation in the area Thought we would take a chance, and we were delighted we did. On arrival we found we had been upgraded to a very large and comfortable family room; there was a good tea / coffee tray with... More

Before I retired I used to spend at least on night a month at The Forge. I must admit it was a stroke of luck finding it, it only happened because the Travel Lodge down the road was full five years ago when i started working the area. Every stay was enjoyable, the rooms are more than adequate and make... More

Was visiting a local business in Carmarthen and found The Forge on the internet on arrival I was warmly greeted by members of the staff and directed to my room. The room was spotlessly clean, large and very well appointed with an fantastic shower and endless supply of hot water. The desk was well illuminated with enough sockets close by, no... More

£8.50 for a plate of 3 deep fried roast potatoes frozen peas carrots , burnt on one side roast parsnips and swede that burnt your mouth with the amount of pepper in it, watery gravy and thinly sliced Turkey and pork which was bought in I suspect ready sliced and in gravy. Loads of bread stuffing . No Apple sauce... More

A lovely little stop over spot on the A40 West of Carmarthen, between St Clear's and Whitland. Family run business with clean, comfortable rooms and adjacent restaurant serving home made food which will suit most tastes. Food is plain and simple, no frills, good friendly service, packed lunches available. A little road noise depending on which room you are in... More

Stopped here for a 6.30pm supper after a coach day trip. We had pre-ordered earlier in the day by phone from a well-balanced "coach party menu". We arrived a few minutes early and as soon as we had purchased drinks from speedy well-trained bar staff and sat down in the restaurant our meals were served, piping hot, very generous portions...
