Stayed at the hotel overnight and loved it. It's in a beautiful location outside Freiburg surrounded by mountainsides. Room was spotless and bedding comfortable. We ate dinner in the restaurant there and loved it also. I would definitely return.

We were getting tired after travelling quite a way looking for somewhere to stay as many guesthouses where closed due to it being the end of season when we came across this lovely hotel at the end of a quiet road in a large village. The staff were so friendly and helpful - the young lad helped carried our bags... More

This family-run gasthof is really nice. The room was clean and comfortable with a pretty view of the hills around Oberried. The rooms, hallways, and stairway landing areas are beautifully decorated. Lots of hiking trails in the area. Easy drive to Freiburg for an evening in the city. Oberried itself is a cute little village, not that there is lots... More

during my last visit in the black forest in Germany I went 5 times to this place with my family. Typical food in this family hotel restaurant is excellent, the selection of wines is really great, the owner is a somellier and can help you with the best choice. they have also a playground for kids.

I have recently returned after staying a few days with friends at 'The Adler'. I have stayed here on a few occasions over the last twelve years and it just keeps getting better. Alf, Axel, Bernd, Sandra and Hannelore treat their guests like friends. You will experience no better dining in some well known restaurants in cities around the world.... More

A fantastic family run hotel. This was my first trip to Germany and the welcome was unbelievable. The hotel was spotless and the rooms could no be faulted, but it was the food that blew me away. The owner is very knowledgeable about his wines and as for the coconut & chilli soup, I would return just for that. Great... More

Lovely room with a view, great location. We were greated by the owner at breakfast with recommendations of where to go and provided with maps to help us. We booked a table for dinner and were so impressed with the food and the service we booked a table for the following night as well. They had an enthusiastic trainee waiter... More

The Goldener Adler in Oberried was beautiful. We stayed in the farmer's room number 14 and loved it. It was very clean and the room included a table and chairs. They had a complimentary bottle of water in our room when we arrived. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English. There was even a building across the street... More

We stayed for 12 days and were spoiled each day by the Maier family (Hannelore, Sandra, Bernd and Axel Maier). The family has owned this house for three generations. The brothers, one a chef and the other a sommelier prepare wonderful meals and the breakfasts are outstanding as well. Our room was bright, clean and had a beautiful view onto... More
