If you are looking for a remote location in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the Cleopatra Farmhouse ticks all the boxes. You enter the Farmhouse through a beautifully well kept herb garden that opens onto the trout pond. The staff were extremely welcoming and you are instantly served a measure of the excellent house lemonade and a cold towel.... More

Nestled in the foothills of Mount Cleopatra in the Drakensberg is the very quaint Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse. Rustic, original and beautifully set we enjoyed our stay here. The area is blessed with stunning birdlife and is just a short drive to the top of the mountain, the only other area apart from Sani Pass that you can drive close to... More

We spend I night at Cleopatra's on our way down to Durban as a treat. And what a treat it was - beautiful surroundings, great staff who where extremely helpful, cosy and comfortable room. The food is the reason we went there and it did not disappoint. Dinner was remarkable and at breakfast I was bowled over by the omelette... More

I was taken to Cleopatra as a birthday surprise. It was incredible. From the breathtaking views to the warm and inviting rooms, this is the ULTIMATE romantic getaway. I'm not even going to describe the food as literally hundreds of food publications have done so already, but just do yourself a favour and book for a truly special wedding anniversary... More

We stayed for 3 days in a standard room, which was large, well equipped (albeit a bit quirky) and part of a block of 6 rooms a few yards from the main house. All meals were in the main house, as were drinks or snacks during the day. The Farmhouse is situated at the end of a 7 minute drive... More

Cleopatras warm hospitality starts in the driveway on arrival. All staff including rainbow trout make an effort to welcome visitors and make one feel at home. Food is good and generous. The setting of this place is beautiful. It is an expensive destination. I dont know if serving brocolli in any form is really ever a breakfast wow factor. The... More

Had an amazing "house" to myself which was great. However, arrived after a 10 hours drive in the afternoon, but couldn't get anything to eat (lunch or other meals you get only by pre-order). In the evening you have to wait until everybody gathers in the lounge. Then the manager runs through the menu before you finally get to the... More

For the finale of our safari holidays we chose this remote hideaway in the Drakensberge and met friends there. We were rewarded with four relaxing and delightful days: The team is very attentive and friendly. The location is exciting: mountain view, a beautiful pond, lots of birds, a large garden which is in very good shape. The food is outstanding:... More

Wow. The only way to describe this amazing hotel tucked high in the Drakensberg mountains. It is a trek to get there and the last few kms are on bumpy unmade roads, but boy is it worth it. The location is breathtaking. Our suite, overlooking the mountains, was gorgeous - spacious, huge closed verandah with log burning stove, sitting room... More

Unfortunatley we only had one night here, what a wounderful setting for a lodge. The food was a little dissappionting after all the hype we had been fed, but would not put us off staying here again. Staff were very helpful and polite. The walks were fun and not to hard. Thank you for great stay.
