What a wonderful place to spend a few days getting away from it all. The lack of TV and WiFi was a real treat. Although the weather was mostly cold and rainy, the warm studio accommodation with amazing views of the bay was the perfect spot to sit/lie and read, chat, and drink hot chocolate. The bed was exceptionally comfortable,... More

Great to watch the blue penguins coming to the lodge. Bed very comfortable. Kitchen needs an oven, as no places really to eat out in evening, but it is winter season. Bathroom quite cold, as no underfloor heating, just heat lamps. Floor took a long time to dry near shower. Just to be warned nextdoor is a building site. Loud... More

Fantastic location 50 metres from the beach, well equipped modern studio accommodation. Truly away from it all, mind you, with no wifi or television. Vodafone mobile coverage, but not Spark. Comfortable bed and sufficient heating for winter comfort (below zero nights during our visit, with deep frost extending down the Porpoise Bay beach). Comfortable walk a couple of km to... More

Absolute beach front. Large combined living room and bedroom. Very comfortable bed. Clean and tidy. Easy walk to penguin watching at dusk. Not many food options at Curio Bay so suggest you bring your own food and cook for yourself. No mobile phone coverage (with Spark) in this area.

Absolutely gorgeous. Beachfront location with an incredible view straight onto the ocean (and you can see Hector's Dolphins!), with a fab little kitchenette (no oven), coffee beans to freshly grind and a lovely bathroom. Then there's the bed - I'm still dreaming of it! Best night's sleep I have had for quite some time. We stayed in the beach apartment,... More

Curio cottage is an original "crib" (holiday home) which has had some creature comforts added but none of the charm taken away. It is simple, rustic and cute in a truly stunning lonely wild location directly on the beach at Porpoise Bay. You really are miles from anywhere however there are houses along the beach front and a little shop... More

My new husband and i stayed here for a couple of nights and wished we had booked in for longer! We staying in the right side studio apartment, so gorgeous, private with beach views, the bed was huge and comfortable, well equipped kitchen and nice big bathroom, loved sitting on the balcony playing the provided boardgames, there is no TV... Stayed overnight on the left side studio apartment. View to the beachfront from your room with dolphins surfing the waves. The blue penguins are noisy little creatures at night!. Would have stayed longer if there were any vacancies.

This place is just phenomenal, in every way. The magnificent setting right on Porpoise Bay, miles of empty beach with the tide far out, Hectors dolphins cavorting straight out the windows, blue penguins vocalizing under the decks and on the path (hard to describe - sort of between a squawk, a screech and a gargle?) and plenty of other interesting...
