Although the hosts are great people, the house needs some serious cleaning up. Cats and dogs aren't for everyone so i'd rather they kept them away from guests. The house was just dirty. I couldn't even have breakfast cos I didn't trust it would have been prepared with clean utensils...

We had a great two days at Thornleys. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast was super. But the best feature of the guesthouse is the hosts. They are very nice, helpful, flexible and accommodating people. They made our stay really memorable.

After a long Trip we arrived there with 6 guys in this wonderful place surrounded with green. We had a very good Stay. The Service was excellent. They have also some nice Dogs and Cats there. I would return there, if i can.

We spent two nights here with Simon and Wendy who were warm and gracious hosts, going out of the way to make us feel at home and part of the family. The breakfasts were great and they also prepared dinner for us one evening which was delicious and healthy too! The rooms was large and comfortable and quiet. It was... More

We had a very wet,but such an enjoyable two days stay here. Simon and Wendy made us feel so much at home and told us so much about the area. Simon booked a meal for us in a local hotel which was full of interesting pictures of Eshowe (plus some very interesting ones!). He also organised a local bird guide... More

My lasting opinion of Thornleys is I wished I’d stayed longer. We arrived late in the day after a long drive from Swaziland. Simon kindly booked us a table at one of the local restaurants, and the next morning guided us to the Dlinza Forest where there are some beautiful forest hikes and an aerial walkway. The rooms were well... More

My trip to South Africa was amazing, and Eshowe one of the highlights. Thornleys guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay, very nice rooms, wonderfull garden. There is no big roads nearby, it´s silent. Thanks to Wendy and Simon I felt like coming home after a long day out.
