We only spent one night but were warmly welcomed by the owners. The converted barn en suite bed room we stayed in, was warm, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. A good breakfast finished off our stay. An unexpected delightful experience in a peaceful setting and we preferred this to staying in a hotel. Not the cheapest option around but in... More

We were in the area for a family gathering and were delighted with the warm welcome from Mike & Susie Skinner. Our room had lovely views over adjacent farmland towards Hurstpierpoint College, was comfortable, warm and quiet. Breakfast was an exquisitely produced colourful feast in an elaborately-decorated dining room. The main house, an ancient dwelling with low-beamed oak ceilings was... More

Just spent a joyful August weekend at Clayton Wickham Farmhouse celebrating joint 40th birthdays. Susie and Mike prepared us an absolutely delicious meal on the Saturday night (see my photos of the beautiful table setting) and we enjoyed champagne and canapes in the beautifully lit garden pagoda prior to our meal. Our children (11 years to 4 years) had a... More

We had booked a string of B&Bs for our South Downs Way walk and Suzie and Mike's place what a real find and the best of them all. They made us feel so much at home and the breakfast was brilliant and the house and grounds were great. Thanks for a lovely stop over and looking forward to an excuse... More

Wow. I was absolutely blown away by the fabulous Clayton Wickham. A haven for any type of visitor, business or pleasure. We were on a walking holiday and couldn't have found anywhere better. Thanks so much Suzie and Mike for making us so welcome, for sharing your amazing home and definitely for the gorgeous breakfasts.

Everything about our stay was excellent. Breakfast was a gastronomic experience, exquisite presentation and endless choice. The house and gardens provide endless interest with many unique features. Very convenient for Hickstead. Can't wait to return.

My husband and I stayed here for one night and were really happy. We had a great nights sleep and the breakfast was wonderful. Every area of the B and B - the rooms, the gardens, the breakfast etc had obviously been very carefully thought about and huge amounts of effort put in to make guests as comfortable as possible.... I came across this place through Hickstead and I stayed there from June 27 until June 29. I was surprised by many things. First of all, when I arrived, they immediately knew who I was. They always called me by my name, something that is truly amazing. The second surprise came when I saw my room, exactly like the picture,... More

Stayed for two nights in two rooms whilst visiting schools in the proximity. Can strongly recommend as the hosts were very courteous, guiding in local attractions/ restaurants and catering to our needs. Additionally their garden is splendid and it's great to sit outside. Only suggestion I have is the provision of kettles/tea making facility in the rooms and whilst I... More

We needed a place to stay for a local Birthday party, and Clayton Wickham Farmhouse was the place we settled for; our regular place being booked. HOW WRONG CAN YOU BE? Mike and Susie, are such great hosts, funny and vibrant; real characters. They have the knack to be there, but the wisdom not to intrude. Their various gardens within... More
