We had a very pleasant stay. Excellent food, really nice room and bathroom, Beautiful surroundings if you appreciated nature. The owner is really helpful to get you on your way to discover the area. On the way back we stopped in Namer which has a lovely historic center.

This was a great find 6 months before the F1 GP Spa weekend. The race date was changed so we had to cancel our previous booking however this B&B was leaps and bounds better value than the other hotels who were taking huge advantage of the race weekend. Being an hours drive from the track was perfect and the quality... More

We spent three nights at this cozy hotel while going to F1 at SPA. It is a cozy place with only 6 room and a very personal service. The rooms where really good and the service and food excelled. Johan (the inkeeper) was nice enough to make early breakfast for us, so we could go early and even took orders... More

We stayed here for the Friday and the Saturday night over the Grand prix weekend, the hotel is based around 40 miles away from the famous Spa-Franchorchamps circuit with a fantastic drive there witnessing beautiful scenery and great driving roads (shame we had a Peugeot 208 diesel hire car). The hotels location is in the pretty village of Chardeneux, where... More

Fabulous. It exceeded my expectations. The room was nicely equipped with all the modern facilities and luxury bath amenities. The dining terrace overlooks the valley. The gracious owner showed great qualities. He made his best for us to feel comfortable. The service is professional but discrete leaving space for privacy. Chardenneux is a tiny village with a few old stoned... More

I and my partner recently stayed in this charming inn. We appreciated friendly welcome and calm setting. The rooms were tastefully and practically furnished. We only had breakfast which was served between 9 - 10 am. The choice was sufficient and consisted of fresh produce but we would have liked it to be served till later. Overall, it was a... More

The comfortable bedrooms are immaculate and tastefully (but simply) furnished. The host is charming and welcoming. His food is really very good. This is a delighful place in tranquil surroundings and I highly recommend. About 3-4 hours from Calais so easy enough even for a short weekend break from London.

Modern rooms with flat screen tv, skype phone, ipod station and internet access. Pretty village but you'll need sat nav to find it. We were warmly greeted by the owner/chef and it was like having our own private hotel [ there was only one other couple staying]. We ate in and had a lovely meal, but, if you have any... More

Only 6 rooms available in the weekends. During the week the hosts have daytime jobs. They welcomed us the minute we entered the parking. The food was excellent, the room spacious. The only thing missing in the room is a bigger trashcan. The only one now is a mini trashcan in the bathroom. Great products in the bathroom. Tell the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The House on the Hill ...On the edge of the Ardennes, in the heart of the undulating rural landscape of Belgium’s Condroz region, the Auberge du Pont Lavoir looks out over one of the twenty most beautiful villages of Wallonia, Chardeneux. The Auberge takes its name from the little bridge where once the women came to do their washing in the stream that runs through the village. From the bridge you drive up a short track leading to the house on the hill. The discerning visitor will appreciate the warm welcome and the peace and calm at this family-run hotel (6 rooms), and the aim throughout is to enable guests to recharge their batteries during their stay at the Auberge. At dinnertime the proprietor’s skill as chef in making creative use of local produce is noteworthy. Rather than an à la carte menu he proposes a fresh menu with one or two alternative choices. (Please notify any special dietary needs before your arrival). At breakfast there is freshly squeezed orange juice and a chance to sample several locally produced breads, cheeses and meat products and a variety of teas and coffees. The hotel is purpose-built in natural stone in the local Condroz style and the rooms are spacious and full of light. The en-suite bathrooms feature a variety of natural hospitality products. All the latest technologies are to hand: satellite TV, WIFI everywhere, iPod/iPhone docking station and iPad or computer available on request. The unspoilt local countryside offers many attractions of interest to tourists of all ages. An in-house TV channel offers a short video introducing you to the Condroz region and its attractions. In or near your room you will find details and maps of hiking and biking routes as well as nearby tourist attractions such as Durbuy, ‘the smallest town in the world’, two golf courses, the astonishing Grottes de Hotton, cheese manufacturers…Harmony is the keynote at the Auberge du Pont Lavoir, where the natural and human elements that characterise the Condroz region are subtly blended with the demands of a modern lifestyle. ... more   less
