No idea why the restaurant doesn't have 2 michelin stars. Food is exquisite, the sommelier is fantastic and presented some absolute gems. Atmosphere is great. The hotel itself is a piece of heaven. Nothing to fault at the rooms which are large, completely equipped, comfortable, clean. There are even home baked cookies. The gardens are great to wonder around, and the swimming pool is an additional attraction. Wonderful experience!

OK so it's not cheap but it's worth every penny. Wonderful meals but also a sensational isolated location in the forest. Sitting in the garden, we counted 11 cars going past all day. Weather can be iffy but so what, you're not going anywhere. Make sure to stay 2 nights so you can spend a day doing nothing or maybe walking in the forest. We did the 2-night midweek package with dinner, includes one normal dinner and one 5-course meal. They're closed Wednesdays so that means Sun/Mon or Mon/Tue. Julien is doing a fine job with the food and of course there's some spectacular wines on the menu ... but they're not gouging you on the drinks like many of the MIchelin stars. Check out the Pomerols, instead of the outrageously expensive Petrus' he's got some equally delightful vintages at a twentieth of the price - we enjoyed the Chateau de Sales 2011, wildly underrated thanks to its unfortunate name. Similarly the house champagne is very reasonable, and you can enjoy a very passable white burgundy, say Pouilly Fuisse, for about 60 euro. Realistically your two nights with Michelin-star food & drink comes in around 1,000 if you're careful. Service is excellent, everyone is there to help and when my wife got sick they brought her a soup & sandwich in the room and later deducted her prepaid dinner off the bill. One tip, they don't do lunch at weekends so you'll need to bring something or stuff yourself at breakfast.

It is located in the middle of woods, in a very secluded area. The only sounds are the birds, the wind and the water running down a near creek. Very well kept, cozy, elegant atmosphere and superior staff. It has a very nice indoor swimming pool, with a sauna. Breakfast is served in a warm, welcoming room, and it is definitely worth it. Definitely, I would recommend it for a weekend escape.

This was really a wonderful stay. Everything is excellent: the food, dinner and breakfast, the room, the beautiful garden and although that’s one thing they cannot organize: during our stay even the weather was great. Very friendly staff.

Domaine is off the beaten path. Beautiful garden in the middle of the woods, nice pond, outdoors tennis court. Inside plenty of beautiful antiques . Large rooms with a bit Too soft Bbeds and a shower with not enough power. The restaurant is first class, Lovely blue lobster salad, whole roasted duck wonderful. Good wine list. Place to smoke a good Cuban cigar with a glace of poire. Only real negative, the hotel has No WiFi in the rooms and your cell phone catches No signal. IDeal place for a quiet couple of days.

We stayed for one night and had a 7 course dinner with wine pairing. The dinner was extremely good, kind of "cautious" modern interpretation of classical French Cuisine. The sommelier had obvious fun to serve us respective wines and every one proofed to be a positive surprise to us. The place itself is a former water mill, carefully restored. So why not give them 5 stars? The sauna even though brand new was very small it did not work properly and our room, even though labeled as luxury room, was in some parts not what you would expect, wenn you see a price of roughly € 500 for the whole package for the two of us.

Was travelling from Ay to Maastricht and wanted to stop off and have a good lunch. Found this gem of a place! Well hidden in the woods , slightly difficult to find but once there had the most wonderful lunch. Great service, great food and not uber-expensive. It has rooms too so next year I will be stopping here to stay and sample their gastronomic menus.

Our stay at the Auberge du Moulin Hideux was fabulous. Excellent food (both dinner and breakfast) and wine. In particular I would single out the sommelier who was an excellent host and made us feel welcome. Nice touch to meet the Chef at the end of dinner.

There are so many great places to visit and yes even to return to, to experience again. For us, Moulin Hideux is one of those weekend trips which we have repeated. After about a gap of 10 years we returned for our third weekend visit to this wonderful house set in the southern forests of the Belguin countryside. We stayed again in room #10, one of the two suites which they have. The weather was a mixture but we really enjoyed breakfast and lunch under a warm breeze and clear skies outside on the patio. Later during the afternoon the clouds and rain set in. The house has a super lounge bar area where one can settle down and read, chat and even surf. I had hoped the wireless signal would have reached the rooms / suites by now , maybe next time. The grounds are so well kept. The flower beds have not changed in ten years, the two lakes are full of fish and we are not sure but the troats we had for lunch probably were from the lake - who knows. If you like hill walking the open grounds flow into the woods and offer great opportunities to take simple easy walks out away from the hotel. One small request would be to invest in sit covers for the garden furniture. I find hard wood not as nice as a clean garden chair soft padded cover. The hotel offers two menues and a great selection of wines. The price for the one Michelin star cook is fair and market mid-value. I loved the starter dishes, the fish dishes. The meat dishes were Ok nothing special. The desert was Friday more like a winter dish but the souffle on Saturday with passion fruit was spot on - great. Before dinner I found a beer strength 9.5% - now this was a real gem a real treat. A final word to the staff, they are experienced and the group who served us were very friendly, very caring and added to the value of staying here.

The combination of comfort in an interior unspoilt by modernity with a cuisine of classical distinction fulfilling the prime function of providing a real meal makes this hotel a true delight. Kind and attentive service enhance the experience.
