During our motorbike trip on the Route des Grandes Alpes, we spent a relaxing night at the Epicerie-Mercerie. This beautifully renovated house, once a grocery, shows great attention to details both in design and welcoming guests. We were offered a light dinner of mountain ham, fresh salad just picked from the garden, an omelette - which, overlooking the garden and... More

We planned to cycle the Col d'Iseran (highest paved road in the Alps) in July and wanted a place to stay that was outside of Bourg Saint Maurice. We found the perfect spot at La Mercerie. The building is a renovated old stone building with five rooms. Ours was on the second floor (no elevator, but an elevator would simply... More

Just finished a week's skiing off piste in the Tarentaise; two of us stayed at La Mercerie and can only concur with the other great reviews here - Evelyne and Michel were superb hosts and the rooms were spotless and well appointed. One of us had the upstairs room adjoining the "lounge" which on arrival we thought might be a... More

What a surprise to discover this beautiful B&B right beside the Ste-Foy ski hill. Well located to travel to all major ski slopes ( Val Isere, Tignes, Arcs, Ste-Foy) this is the perfect retreat to go to after a day of ski or cycling. Decorated with taste, respecting the Savoyard architecture and interior design, it feels like home. All about... More

Situated only a few km down the road from sainte Foy ski resort, la Mercerie, is a perfect choice. The rooms are great and so are the beds. Best of all is the hospitality from the hosts. They helped us with transfer to Bourg St. Maurice and served a very nice dinner. Thanks!/the Swedes

I stayed for 1 week at La Mercerie and what a surprise it was, much better that I expected a b& b could be. As other people have commented the interior has been wonderfully renovated with great taste and attention to detail and to a high standard. The bedrooms are spacious and well appointed, also the dinning room and lounge... More

Just finished a week's skiing in Sainte Foy. Stayed at this "chambre d'hote" and drove to diiferent ski areas. Evelyne and Michel have re-built a lovely house just off the Ste Foy - Val d'Isere road. A labour of love. And their welcome, rooms and food (and Genepi!) are in the best traditions of non-corporate, family-run establishments. I had a... More

We have just returned from a fantastic stay with Evelyne and Michel in their beautiful mountain chalet. They rebuilt and renovated the whole chalet themselves, with careful attention to detail. Our family suite was huge, with spacious bedrooms, plenty of storage and a great shower. The children loved the games room upstairs with chess, a big TV, comfortable chairs and... More

Together with my wife, I stayed at La Mercerie earlier this month (July 2014). The chalet is a traditional styled building which has obviously been lovingly restored by the present owners. They are the perfect hosts and Evelyn speaks good English. Michel speaks a little English, but more than makes up for this by his charm and willingness to help.... More

Stayed here with my wife and enjoyed spring skiing in Val D'Isere and Tignes, but equally convenient for Sainte Foy, Les Arc and La Rosiere. The house has bags of character and is comfortably furnished. The room was generously sized by Alpine standards and the owners interested and helpful. We had our evening meal there one evening and was treated... More
