Stayed here for one night as part of a girls week end away. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and nothing was too much trouble . We had two rooms, one of which was recently refurbished to a very high standard. The beds were extremely comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean. We had a... More

Sorry your Sunday breakfast didn't meet the grade. We pride ourselves on our delivery of the first meal of the day especially our sausages as you can see from a previous review. We were not disappointed having stayed for one night. We were warmly welcomed by Tracy and shown to our well appointed and spacious room. The dinner was very good. I had the fish pie which was delicious and my wife had the duck that was pink and very tasty, followed by the profiteroles that were indulgent. For a Wednesday night... More

I stayed here for four days as part of a cycling group that were billeted at various inns locally. I was so impressed that I felt compelled to write this review. Firstly the rooms; they were spacious and well maintained. I had hot water for a shower or bath instantly no matter when I needed it. Our bicycles were stored... More

The rooms are located across from the main building. Check in was easy...don't unpack you car as you will only walk back to your room. The double room was clean with a good quality bed and nice furnishings. The shower was a pain to use...but we managed in the end. There is an issue with noise as the smoking shelter... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. The smoking shelters proximity to the rooms is sometimes a problem and the language that emanate from its interior can be a bit fruity. We are experimenting with Dictionary evenings to expand the inhabitants understanding of the English language in an attempt to develop a greater variety of descriptive words.... More

In the lounge bar there is a blackboard with a chalk map which illustrates where their locally sourced food is from. Great idea, all the food was freshly cooked, tasty and the breakfast the next day set you up for the day. I was on a National Trust mini tour with my parents. Both rooms were immaculate with appropriate furnishings,... More

This is a fabulous hotel, clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay at. The cost of B & B was most reasonable at 60 pounds. The Owners and locals are very friendly. Talking to a few of the passing locals they voiced their appreciation of this hotel. We had stayed there 9 years previously and have always meant to come... More

We booked a room at The Bateman Arms as we were walking the 2nd leg of the Mortimer Trail during the day. A couple of days before the owners kindly rang to say that the restaurant wouldn't be serving food as there would be a pig roast instead as there was a live band on that evening (which we were...
