We had a lovely experience staying in this Chateau. The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful. There is even a crumbling tower and a beautiful river flowing through them. The rooms are spacious if a little dated. We ate dinner in the restaurant. The meal and wine were superb and couldn't be faulted.

This place is unique in many ways. It is largely a successful attempt at offering luxury in the middle of one the most beautiful and little known areas of France: Northern Burgundy, the Parc du Morvan and the Yonne river Valley. It is almost a sin to hammer down the A6 to go and spend a day or two there.... More

Chateau de Vault-de-Lugny is a lovely place to stay, unless you are fussy about your food. Which our family happens to be. Our only dinner at the hotel's restaurant turned out to be a big disappointment. Impressed by both the outside and the inside of the hotel, we had rather high expectations about its restaurant. Unfortunately, the food's price did... More

I flew all the way to France, this was place was the reason, and it didn't disapoint. The medieval towns near by, are great. Sitting on the lawn having a drink and some snacks was a sanctuary. Everything is cared for to the last detail. The dining room is really is a memorable portion of the stay. With vaulted ceilings,... More

This was our first trip to Burgundy and we could not have chosen a more beautiful spot. I agree that the Chateau looks like a movie set. The setting is magical and the food exceptional. All of this is only surpassed by the warm and welcoming reception by Elizabeth and her staff. They could not have been more accommodating. It... More

We came from Washington, DC to Burgundy and spent a perfect three nights at the Chateau, a movie set worthy of Catherine Deneuve, with magnificent grounds, a vegetable garden that, with a little help from the innovative kitchen, showcases vegetables that turn up on your table in the evening meal. The adorable dog, known to turn up at day's end... More

Please imagine a magnificent chateau situated alongside a lovely river surrounded by beautiful flowers and mature trees. Sound like a dream? On our first visit we drove up the driveway and we were granted access through an iron gate. We were greeted by peacocks, birds of all kinds and a lovely dog his name was Reglise and we will never... This is one of the very few special places I have been, where I desire to came back to, over and over again. The midieval castle is one of the most gorgeous in the French countryside, in a beautifully wooded settting, along a picturesque stream, on the edge of the historic village, Lugny, which is home to one of France's... This was our second stay at Chateau de Vault de Lugny and once again the experience was exceptional. The location is private and beautiful and the accommodation is spacious, décor traditional and opulent with all the mod cons. For those guests driving the parking is covered and secure. The service is excellent (respectful, friendly and efficient - nothing is too... More

This stunning Chateau set in the quiet Burgundian countryside is what one dreams of when planning to escape to France. The rooms are gorgeous and the grounds and common areas are impeccably maintained, dotted with cozy little nooks to relax and read in. There is a lovely indoor pool under a vaulted ceiling that is inviting and private, which I... More
