Arke (Dutch subsidiary of Tui) have this as their cheapest property in Banjul - that's a good reason to stay here. Rooms are fairly basic though clean and most have balconies. You can hire fridges (though there are paper notes on all the room doors requesting guests not to bring food or drink from outside into the hotel so what... More

I have not stayed here so I cannot comment on the accommodation but the food is truly awful. I live in Gambia and have not eaten here for a couple of years because it was such a poor experience. despite my intention never to return I was encouraged by a new building to give it another chance. Big mistake! If... More

This is a friendly, small, African hotel. Nice staff. Chabby but clean rooms. An old but working airco. We were there for three days, We once did joined the BBQ with a nice reggae band. The hotel is situated at a busy road, but the noice is not annoying. The thing is you always need a taxi to go to... More

This is the first place I visited following arrival at The Gambia. Friends who invited me told me all about its history and changes over the years. We sat at the front of the restaurant listening to a band. It was a great introduction. The food didn't disappoint either and great value for money. I was impressed. It's more relaxed... More

The resort is not very far from the Airport and its just located on the main road. My experience with the staff was awsome right from the reception to the restaurant! They were very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. since I was new with the west African dishes, they helped me a lot in making choices and the meals was very... More

We went there in December 2012 and had a lovely time. It's all very basic, but that doesn't matter, because the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have a nice little pool, a money exchange, we rented bikes (which didn't work at first, but they went to great lengths to get them working), monkeys come and visit and it's... More

This is by far the best place that I have stayed in The Gambia and we will be staying here again in April. My children were enjoying the company of the friendly staff, who always had time and patience for them. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing yet close enough to the strip when you fancy something a bit livelier.... More

I spent two weeks there in Dec/Jan 2014 and I can truely recommend the place. It's quiet, friendly and clean. The room was big enough, with wardrobe, huge bed, fridge and a cabinet. The bed sheets were clean, colourful, changed regularly. The bathroom was small but very clean, with fresh towels, tones of paper and a welcome soap:) The restaurant... More

We spent two nights here last week while touring Gambia and Senegal. Our room was small and sparse but very clean. The a/c was good and plenty of hot water in the shower. The restaurant was very good and the location was very quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel pool was great, the highlight of... More

I've stayed at the Baobab over 20 times, with family, friends and groups of students from UK and Holland. It is always my first choice. Small and friendly, it doesn't have the facilites of larger hotels, but this is more than made up for by the peaceful, friendly atmosphere where the staff do everything they can to ensure that you...
