I stayed in this wonderfully 'French' hotel while on a school visit with 3 other colleagues. yes it has no lift & the rooms are very old fashioned BUT the staff are so friendly & helpful, making every effort to ensure the stay is enjoyable. We spent one night here while passing through the region. Confolens is a very attractive little town and there are several hotels to choose from. This one is a traditional French place, average in all respects. Adequate accommodation and reasonably good food. Service a little slow in the restaurant.
