The Chateau de Ternay has a remarkable history spanning over 700 years. It is remarkable unaltered. The chapel is a stunning example of 16th century architecture. Best to think about your stay as you have been let in to their world briefly. Beds will not be made or fresh towels brought or errands run. Breakfast is basic. Closest town for... More

This castle is only about 20-30 minutes off the beaten track, but well worth the side trip. We had the two-room, family unit for our daughter and us for two nights - and the room was very nice, comfortable with a very modern bathroom. We had the pre-arranged dinner option for the first evening, and were served a fabulous meal... More

We spent two nights at this historic castle in April and were treated to a wonderful recounting of the history as we were shown some of the special areas, including the chapel. Staying at this castle is more of an adventure than staying at a hotel or inn, there are so many things to see as you go to the... More

Our two night stay in the historic chateau was perfectly enchanting! Our fairy tale gift to our daughters, of a stay in an authentic castle, could not have been more magically accommodated by this magnificent home. Count Loic and Countess Caroline, who lovingly manage the estate, inherited from a lineage of generations, abundantly host their guests with the assistance of... More

You'll be delighted by the wonderful gardens (blossoms of flowers in the parc when we were there beginning of October.) Delighted by the captivating history of the caste and Loïc's family, the comte de ces lieux, although I must admit having really never be intersted and proficient in history during my studies. Delighted by the charming castles, prince and princess... More

I stayed here with my small family and two other families in 2011 (not December 2012!). We rented the dependencies for a week and had a great time. A very special place. Furniture and surroundings were a bit dated and maybe not in the best shape, but nothing to really be worried about. Otherwise this was simply a very unique... More

We stayed for one night in August, we loved it. It is a real chateau, with real charm because it is not highly polished. We were a family of 5, had a "family room" (which was 2 adjoining rooms, one a four poster with a lovely modern bathroom) which was perfect. The kids enjoyed the pool. Loic and his wife... More

Stayed for one night in August. The owner provides a very interesting tour of the chateau which is well worth doing. Our room was very old, but with a reasonably modern bathroom. We didn't have the best nights sleep, hence the 4 stars, as our bed was not terribly comfortable, but other than that we had a memorable and interesting... More

This was my first chateau experience and I absolutely loved it. The accommodation and hosts were absolutely amazing. We had a very warm welcome, sipped champagne in the courtyard with the count and countess. How often does that happen. We had a silver service 4 course superb dinner listening to Debussy. A world away from the hustle and bustle of... More

As already stated this isn't a Disneyland castle all glossy and fake but a genuine castle. Yes its a little tired around the edges but you do feel the sense of history and family traditions here. Unfortunately we used a GPS and took the wrong reading and ended 100 k out of the way ,so do double check you have... More
