First of all, a word about the listing- Dera Mandawa Farm and Dera Mandawa are two different properties by the same management. Dera Mandawa in Jaipur is a heritage homestay and the Farm is in Nawalgarh, up for renovation until October 2014 as per the management. As for Dera Mandawa Jaipur, it was everything I imagined about Rajasthan. Impeccable hospitality,... More

I have stayed in many hotels from modest home stays to 5star luxury. This wonderful place is without doubt among the most unforgettable. Not only are the rooms beautifully and authentically restored and decorated, but the owners have thought of every possible detail that a guest could wish for...to be comfortable, to feel at home, to be looked after, to... What a beautiful place! We stayed in one of the suites and it was unlike anywhere else I have ever stayed. It was clearly an old building which had been lovingly restored and provided us with everything we needed and wanted and more. There was a lot of space in both the main room and bathroom for the two of... More

There are people in this world who sadly need to define themselves by the make of their car, the tag on their clothes or the brand name hanging over the door of their hotel, in their vain attempts to gratify their own vanity they miss all of the real treats in life. The self confident make their way to Dera... More

This hotel is an absolute gem. The owner is charming and courteous and helped us with with many of our travel plans. Our bedroom was beautiful and the food and service excellent. We stayed with two children aged 7 and 8 and the atmosphere in the hotel is so relaxed and family orientated it felt like we were a guest... More

A superb oasis in the very bustling city of Jaipur. The room we stayed in was magnificent and this family run homestay was very welcoming. It is also very eco friendly - discouraging the use of plastic, having their own cows for milk and converting the cow dung into gas for cooking. Jaipur was my favourite Indian city and I... More

I have just returned from a trip to India and of all the 8 very different places I stayed this has to be my favourite. When the mini bus turned in the small entrance I wondered where on earth it was going....but this lovely place is well hidden off a very busy street in Jaipur and truly is a haven... More

We stayed two nights at the Dera Mandawa when visiting Jaipur. It is a delightful Haweli, the home of the Singh family, run as a small private hotel. The rooms, set around a private courtyard, are elegantly furnished in a traditional way, with every comfort - the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur outside the gates. The... More
