The panoramic views from the terrace and my room are unforgetable - just what a visitor to Tasmania wants to experience. I received a warm and friendly welcome from the young, international hosts who did everything to make me feel 'at home'. I can still smell the aroma of baking bread for breakfast -yum! Great decor and very clean ensuite... more

it is quite obvios from recent reviews these premises have changed ownership and are using previous owners website the AWESOME BREAKFAST we were presented with was juice cereals toast and marmalade and a pot of tea no evening meal offered the room and view were brilliant .we had really bad weather so a tv in the lounge would have helped... more

I am sorry that you did not have an enjoyable experience at Storm Bay. The property has not changed ownership but this year is being run by our son and his partner and has been repriced to better suit the current market. Consequently, we are now serving a continental breakfast and are no longer serving dinner. This is reflected in...

Recommended and booked by the friendly staff at the Port Arthur tourist information center, this was a delightful experience at a very affordable rate (AU$153). The cottage is a separate structure containing 2 bedrooms, bath, and sitting room/kitchen, together with an outside deck. A BBQ was available outside. The beach was just a couple hundred yards/meters away. We arrived fairly... more

Pick your room at this modern home within reasonable driving distance of Port Arthur. The Acacia Room has fantasic water views and despite a tiny shower, fully adequate facilities. Least friendly hosts of our entire trip--disinterested would be more accurate. they seemed detached, perhaps explained by the business being for sale. Go for the view; moderate expectations for the rest... more

I can only apologise that this guest's experience of us was not a good one. We love this business especially meeting and greeting guests from all over the world with their interesting stories. I certainly don't feel detached and the only reason the property is for sale is that we have built a new place on the beach (with accommodation)...

..dont get too carried away by some of the other reviews. We had a cheaper room at the back, very comfortable and entirely adequate though no view. The view from the dining room lounge is lovely and an evening meal here was very enjoyable. Certainly not gormet food, but good and excellent value. Breakfast too was good, but again not... more

We were very impressed with Storm Bay guest house. We stayed in the Acacia room with water views on two sides. The room is a good size with armchairs and a lovely big deck which we didn't use as it was raining. Our hostess was brisk but helpful and given the amazing meals she produced I was happy for her... more

Stayed two nights at Storm Bay guest house. Highly recommend it. The Bay View room was a large queen with wonderful views and a huge bathroom with double spa. Found this B&B in the new Tasmania Lonely Planet. Full cooked breakfast was awesome, homemade bread and jam and fresh ground coffee. Eggs bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc etc. The hosts went out... more

Having stayed the previous night in an absolute dive in Hobart I found an internet cafe early next morning to search for an alternative for the next night. There was very little available that I could afford because of the time of year and I booked Storm Bay Guest House because the price was reasonable and the pics on the... more

Storm Bay has amazing views. There's no disputing that. However, this was one of the most expensive B&Bs we stayed in and the overall experience was disappointing. The bathroom is absolutely tiny (1m wide, literally, our knees hit the wall when going to the toilet and the shower was just big enough for me to fit in at 5"2), and... more

Everything is true about Storm Bay. It's a great place to hang out at if you go to the Tasman Peninsula. We stayed three nights in the Acacia room, awesome room with views across Storm Bay one side and beautiful Parson's Bay on the other. Delicious food but what people haven't been saying is anything about the coffee! Locally roasted... more
