Les Battees is a vegetarian b&b / chambre d'hote in Burgundy, and it is very good indeed! The rooms are in an old farmhouse, large, polished wooden floors, very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable bed. Food is excellent - Roy, the owner, does an evening 3-course dinner (+ aperitifs) - always vegetarian - and he is an excellent cook. In the... More

Wow...Roy can cook!!!! The B&B was lovely, a real hidden gem in a beautiful area, but it was the homecooked meal that really makes this place special! Even my devotedly carnivorous boyfriend loved the vegetarian feast we had at Les Battees. We caught the train to Beaune one day too - great day out and a fab little journey! Our... More

It was our first stop on our way to spain. Nice location, beautiful house and big room. There were two seperate rooms, ideal for a stay with kids. We ate a tasty vegetarian meal (table d'hôtes) and went to sleep with a smile on our face!

The house is an interesting old building and the bedroom was clean with a modern bathroom attached. It was easy to find; not far from a junction with the A6 and is set in a lovely region, Autun is well worth a visit. On the negative side it was fairly spartan and the food was mediocre, although vegans were catered... More

The accommodations at Les Battees are spacious and comfortable. The location is beautiful and provides easy access for wine tasting and sight seeing in the region - and there's even a beautiful chateau to visit right up the road! I can't give high enough praise for Roy's cooking - each of the three nights that we stayed he provided delicious,... More

Les Battees is a rustic guest house that we first visited in 2008, return this month for two separate one night stays as our stop over place on route to and from our France holiday. It is such a shame that most people just stop the one night as the region itself is very pretty; the accommodation is charming peaceful... More

After reading the other reviews, I was expecting something really special to kick off our holiday, but this really wasn't it. There was none of the warm welcome we were led to expect from other reviewers, and the whole place felt a bit musty. The food was terrific, however, and we had a lovely evening in the company of a... Just arrived back from Les Battees, we spent a lovely evening with our host Roy. His B&B is superbly clean, his welcome warm and genuine. He cooks a wicked vegan evening meal, it was one of the best we've had away from home. He really wants his guests to enjoy their stay and this is the perfect location to do... More

We spent the night as a stopover on the way down to the Alps. After getting slightly confused by the sat nav, we arrived at the gorgeous farm house after a long journey. As soon as I walked up onto the cool veranda I felt immediately relaxed, and refreshed. We were shown to a spacious twin room with a very... More

If you are a Vegan or Vegetarian who likes cycling or walks then there is no better place to stay in France. Forget all the anxieties of finding understanding restaurants, the quality of Roy’s food is exceptional. There are wonderful walks and all levels of cycling within easy reach in this beautiful part of France. Enjoy!
