We stayed at Club Hotel Casapueblo for two nights, April 11 and 12, 2014. On the night of Sat.,April 12 there was a powerful storm which left the entire area (Punta Ballena) without electrical power. This hotel DOES NOT HAVE AN EMERGENCY GENERATOR. We had no lights in our bathroom and had to climb up nine floors of stairs lighted... More

Pros - Unique architecture. - Nice views. Cons - There is no internet. Despite charging for it and promising it both on its website and at the front desk. I was instructed to use the internet at a gas station several kilometers away. The internet did not work there either. - The facilities are in disrepair. The furniture, fixtures, and... More

I am loathe to write a negative review, especially for a property as beautiful as Casapueblo, but the experience I have had with the hotel has been quite disappointing. On a brief sojourn from BA, I came with the expectation that I would be able to work remotely using the hotel's wi-fi. However, in the wake of a recent storm,... More

The view is fantastic but the hotel is awful, go for a15 minutes to experience the view but don't stay. We booked a suite and the room was not as pictured in the online advertising, the living room/ sitting area are two single beds pushed against the wall. The light fixture in the bathroom is a 2 foot bare fluorescent... More

We had a wonderful time in Casapueblo on our first leg of our honeymoon. The room was beautiful. The view was breathtaking. Great rates in Oct/Nov. Shower was tiny and breakfast was ok. But the view and the beauty of hotel made up for it. The staff helped us take some pic w our wedding attire. Highly recommended. Very romantic!

Great place, great building, bad managed, bad manteined. The location is the best ,like being in the middle of the sea. The view is superb. The feeling of the place is magic. It's a pity such a beautiful place managed like a 3 stars hotel. It should be 5.

I did not stay at the hotel, buy it is a beautiful place. I went there for like 2 hours, and it was one of the highlights of my stay in Uruguay. I saw the sunset while listening to Carlos Páez Vilaró reciting one of his poems "Ceremonia del sol", it was a magical moment.

Casapueblo is a habitable sculpture, in Punta Ballena, near Punta del Este. It was initially hand made by uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró (father of one of the Los Andes Tragedy survivors and friend to Dalí, Picasso, De Chirico and Calder amongst others) around 40 years ago. For its resemblance with those houses in Greek islands and astonishing views to... More

We recently had a great experience at Club Hotel Casapueblo. While researching options, we contacted many nearby hotels but after talking with Freddy (with Group Sales) we decided to reserve a mid-size room block for our corporate incentive trip. From our initial contact through check-out, Freddy and his colleagues were professional, thorough, and courteous. We all were very impressed with... More

This would have to be the most extraordinary place we have ever stayed, with the possible exception of an underground motel in Coober Pedy, Central Australia. Built on the side of a cliff, the reception is on the top floor and the levels, nine in all, descend below (it is rather odd getting in a lift at reception and pressing... More
