The hotel is cold, impersonal and unwelcoming. The receptionist mirrors the tired, deflated, dark brown poorly lit reception area which is the theme throughout this establishment. A depressing place not recommendable to have a good time and a break to be enjoyed even when only staying one night on the road of a long journey.

On our 5 week tour around Europe we had stayed in hotels and b and bs but always checked them out with either Tripadvisor or Tourist Information and were happy with them all.For our last night in rural France we simply turned off the motorway and came across Hotel Paris-Bale which looks ok on the outside but is in fact... Stopped by for coffee on our way south without realising we had booked it for a night on our return. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Hot water was a bit limited which was a bit surprising considering the place was half empty. The main problem is the corridors; no carpets so noise travels and echoes everywhere. Fortunately everyone went... More

We were planning to stay one night here en route back home, but were already suspicious before we walked in to the dank smelling reception, so asked to see the room. Dingy decor, dodgy bed, smelling of smoke, orange and very delapidated bathroom suite, place looked totally deserted in spite of the restaurant being set up for hundreds. Menu looked... More

From the aggressive couldn't care receptionist to the distrusting pay up now approach (rather than on check out as with every other hotel I've been to in France) the unwelcoming bar the expensive food and poor restaurant service. Just don't go there is my advice!

Much has been said about this hotel's unusual decor, but all we needed was a decent place to break up a long drive across France. For that it delivered just fine. Rooms are clean and functional with reasonably comfortable beds and good bathrooms (if ugly). Hotel is about 10 minutes from the motorway in a very rural setting, but this... More

When making an over night stop we usually opt for a chain type hotel, Ibis or similar. Now we have a dog wanted somewhere in the country with a restaurant. Chose this form the Logis site. What a mistake. Had to pay before being show our room. Hd. Seen it before paying I would have refused it. Room 206 is... More

Let me start with the good points; the room was clean, and warm in this unseasonably cold May. Otherwise, it is a time-warp back to the 70s, with orange everywhere, and rather tired décor. Even to loo-roll holder was some sort of plastic affair that looked a bit like a nesting box! The staff were pleasant, but even that could... More

My husband booked this hotel for a couple of nights as we wanted to have a very short break in the Champagne region of France with a couple of very good friends. After it was booked, I went onto Tripadvisor and nearly cancelled this hotel, the reviews were absolutely awful. We arrived, very pleasant and friendly staff, amazing place, with... More

We intended to stay for four nights in June after a week on a cruiser on the River Saone. We don't go for chain hotels so we got the name of this place from the local tourist information office. On arrival, we were asked to pay €150 up front which didn't seem particularly good start. On our first night we... More
