We stayed here only 1 night as we were attending a wedding nearby. We regretted that it was only 1 evening as we felt at home straight away and were able to benefit from the lovely calm garden with our young baby. The house is surrounded by horses, chickens, dogs and a golf course! The breakfast is good and filling... More

Christine and her husband are very friendly and welcoming hosts that immediately made us feel like home. We had the room "Library" which was very spacious. Everything was very clean and cosy. The french breakfast was elaborate with home made yoghurt, croissants, and so on! The hosts are always ready to help with suggestions or to have a talk. Definitely... More

We just left the Chateau and our lovely hosts, Christine and Xavier, last Friday where we had stayed two nights in the Bibliotheque. Manoir de la Semoigne is a 15th century Chateau full of charm and beauty. The flowers were showing off in full bloom and were gorgeous! We found Christine and Xavier to be warm and lovely people, we... More

All one could hope for ... superb 15th century renovated farm house (mini chateau really complete with corner towers). Charming hosts Christine and Xavier who speak good english for the french challenged. Gorgeous views over expansive gardens , one feels relaxed from the moment of arrival. Great traditional french breakfast outside in lovely garden setting weather permitting. Home made bread,... More

After months of emails with Christine, the owner, we were looking forward to our 8 day stay. Yes, the setting is peaceful, our room was very large, the bed comfortable but for 99 euros a night, I expected more. The breakfast is minimal - bread croissant, jam, coffee juice and admittedly the Best yogurt I've ever had. But an egg... More

We have been here many times and had five nights in the Bibliotheque Room. It has a large airy bedroom and large bathroom with shower over the bath. Christine and Xavier have become friends and are great hosts. The winter salon is in use all year round where you can have cold food I.e salads and make hot drinks, and... More

If you want to visit the Champagne district of France and really get a feel of the rural character of the area, you must stay at Manoir de la Semoigne. The manor house has been lovingly restored by the charming owners. You get the feeling that it's your own home. We stayed in the Bibliotheque, which had ensuite facilities and... More

Christine and her husband are lovely --- the rooms are tranquil -- the breakfast a great chance to practice your French with other guests - it is overall excellent value .. We have been there twice now .. and we have vowed that it will be our first stop on all future trips as we head south from the Chunnel.... More

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of November. We stayed in the Chambre Bibliotheque which was at the far end of the long house. We had a large room with nice bathroom attached, plus easy access to a "winter kitchen" room below...with working fireplace, nice seating and small kitchen. Christine and her husband were friendly,... More

The accomodation is truly authentic and we felt we were in the middle of France and part of the countryside. There is tremendous history with this manior, dying back to the 15th century, as well as more recently with the wars and the families monumental efforts in restoring this place to its beauty, all on their own. The rooms are... More
